My eyes try to fix a place, where we just carry on, and no one feels the pain, or cares for my bones, a river rises all alone, beyond any time zone, when she sees my face, the running line of alcohol, red veined suddenly plain, a time to stay alone, a wolf howl at the moon, not like coming home, maybe i'll take a train, like last winter's love, we sparked around the Bay, who knows where's the flame, a trapeze of broken runs, does our soul work this way, how can i fasten fame, acting like some walking tomb, can we ever really say, what makes a country tune ? ,

On these long flights, side by side for harmony, we are cool socialites, why take a train, or a sail on the lee, this way there's no stain, so far we're right, who needs reason, bags weigh heavy at night, it's fun being away, we won't ever concretely, inquire about pain, a long silent right, that won't stand scrutiny, a morning cold cabin light, this horizon so bright, a diamond sun all seeing, she has hopes of eternity, I want to be free, she says from on high, below us the sea, who needs to wonder why? .

I dream of her class, silken not torn, listening to the gasps, struggling to be born, broken unsought, i smell forlorn, i dance in the traps, struggling on thorns, a modern day iconoclast, shuddering at what i've bought, thinking it jejeune, a penny for your thoughts, what you say overlaps, now that she's gone, i hide under Burlap, I'm sat here aghast, how to break the fast, it's useless i'm fat, on the next mountain pass, i'll have her caught, love cannot last, stripped of thoughts.

Your manner always myriad, where a life is blown, unlike mine let it be said, never mean she brings the sea, an artist bright unknown, for this old has been, if in danger of losing cred, you cry don't frown, I'll see you less, I never leave this street, and cannot pray for calm, she shakes her keys, with lipstick instead, her skin golden brown, she lights my bed, a loving need, for what is known, no sense of ease stamps her feet, our daily bread, is warm as toast, you who lightly tread, down this path alone.

What it means to cry, within a screaming gale, no use trying to lie, in your bones, you don't need a trial, to find yourself alone, studying a time, when all your measures fail, and you search for style, can you atone, when love forever fails, and shame marks your home, flip a coin see the sky, talk of finding sail, you always leave this way, drink wine from broken cones, search for desolate mail, throw stones at ghosts, say it's worse than jail, forsaken all the while, when you hit the trail, walk that lonely mile.

A worn out empty feeling, seeking hot cafe' and cakes, the pain of something leaking, she brought me the news, like a gun man faces, when he knows the truth, never mean, she gave me the sea, an artist bright and unfazed, for this old has been, looking for something new, a need to get away, she heard the Delta Blues, who never left her street, tho' she worked and saved, whatever young women seek, it sends me reeling, falling as the rain, on St Anthony's quay, kills me with her being, on stretched out sunny days, her smile's an absent queen, now she's going away.

Tell me, tell me why, they teat me like a seer, my lips dissolve their cries, who says to run clear, call for stolen times, demand a veil of tears, i command a beautiful sight, candles scent their fear, bells ring out the night, my life contains all grief, a yellow robed proud engineer, fresh from their sleep, I walk like a man of dreams, through the city streets, they scream desolate screams, will they ring my feet, slash or burn my ears, ask the elders to entreat, our ship leaving Tyre, they love orators here, in darkness and green light, i'm ready for the spear.
