Ronny

We love this cosy light, my life contains no grief, a yellow robe pulled tight, I dream the dawn awake, fresh from gentle sleep, give my limbs a shake, I walk as in paradise, through these city streets, they scream at me why, desolate lonely jakes, try to ring my feet, slash or turn my gait, rob me of my sight, make the wise entreat, safe passage at this night, wait for sunset to drain, our departure to the sea, hear us as we perorate, love brings belief.

Queenie

In a room that creaks, listening to the rain, she turns to speak, this is not my tune, she says, the song is too crude, the walls are washed green, the moon gyrates, it knows where she's been, Europe's sunlit avenues, not somewhere seedy, soaked in the Blues, wrapped in a cotton sheet, she examines her nails, her long gait and knees, outside's a curfew, the bed's like a cradle, you can smell her perfume, you can smell the sea, sometimes she rages, from a life uneven, love marks her day.

Pammy

Americans of note, look to mountains and ruins, give vent to your voice, lovers only hesitate, at the family’s crucible, she's here to be great, figures to join the dots, sheds a stone or fewer, scripted bigger than any plot, next to the golden gate, blue waters run with news, she blushes on sunny days, joshes with the big shots, always being cute, film is all they’ve got, money men of lower grades, let them fix their feuds, her almond eyes like dates, she always pays her dues.

Rosalie

From her white garden seat, she hangs out a load, time is taken to defeat, feelings like lemons steeped, ravaged lipstick Eau De Cologne, she whispers her secrets, Halloween lovers trick or treat, surrenders perfume soaked, to drink her whisky neat, living by a swollen creek, heaven is her goal, battling granny rolls her sleeves, hanging rifle lifts the sheets, she's no rolling stone, what better cure than ease, whenever wine or beast, isolates her lonely home, plenty are the harvest feasts, Chapel delights her runner beans, there's no public telephone, down these fields of wheat, she's not alone.

Pammy

She has some spark, her lovely face rises, shines early as the lark, she hankers for love, most of her nights, cares about what's above, in a supermarket car park, they ask her why, she hangs around bars, says we all need a crust, singles suit her fine, she doesn’t do doubles, never walks far, to gossip is a crime, each step is another star, works without trouble, unlike other times, Okay, when it's good, knows where's the line.

Ossie

Panic shall never reign, even in my dreams, whoever holds the reins, best not to moan, hold your own creed, batten down in hurricane zones, note down every name, flying birds who’ve flown, they were never tame, whooping as they go, drunk within some airy scene, dancing with their fellows, all that was sacred, but not enough to see, keeps me engaged, problems the wind knows, dissolves but never mean, love given me and shown, all now tumbleweed.

Saturday, 25 March 2023

Nolly

In that different scene, when you left home, you didn’t ever dream that you’d re-schedule, start polishing the chrome, sing at the swinging moon, it’s ages where you’ve been, the wind going cold, turning fields to green, waiti outside the school , you could never live alone, fresh smell of their satchels, rain settles on the breeze, to rescue God and love, it makes you feel at ease, Oh you were so cool, laugh now what's come to be, waiting for holidays in June, singing at uncertainty, growl little lullaby tunes, this place sets you free, duties never dues.

Maisie

Please don't act so fine, playing your serious games, needing to chime, whatever you think’s due, colouring a busy frame, spot always what’s new, It never turns out right, living with the stain, sleeping bad, drinking wine, what a lousy tune, let’s leave home you say, better than face these blues, stand naked on the line, look at the empty plain, nothing comes of bad goodbyes, catch this dismal view, others wait for trains, nothing more is true, no life without pain.

Laney

Why always open the gate, they ask, the ghosts who berate, sat on a bar stool, bereft, you never flap, throw parties for fools, know you’ll be saved, just have to tap, on door steps and graves, mark waystones by rule, if you understand, life is a jewel, creed leaves you sensate, dancing in ashes, climb out of that cradle, prise open the moon, tides are running fast, watch them all swoon, back home at last.

Kirsty

Would you even care, why i feel so rotten, swollen beyond a dare, have you read the news, opened up your wallet, i'm in love with you, your hand around me flares, laughs when i startle, signs are showing wear, carry on won't you, under trees or car parks, i'm remaining true, anchors won't bind this girl, ships might roll forgotten, stars run cold before my stare, i'm not a one to stew, God is not for mocking, He is never Blue, flags have you unfurled, can't you see me rocking, is it me you've turned, crawling on the bottom ?

Tuesday, 21 March 2023

Jamie

No one takes you for a fool, find where the Ocean plays, they think you that stupid, crass, consider them gone, you don’t want to stay, listening to their sounds cheer, when botherer’s stew, blowing like shining whales, return the money you tooled, in a poor welcome home, dream of light, lilac waves, you're golden brown and toned, but no more trick balloons, bells or lust for fame, find your own dancing school whoever makes you groan, shred insurance claims, you’ll face them all alone, bring a chocolate tray.

Monday, 20 March 2023

Ivory

Nothing more to negotiate, sing a song by Frieda Payne, seek a holy escape, they're only bones, that send you away, but you're not alone, reason says its not too late, to heal our broken gaze, like a brigand seeks escape, why be a rolling stone, all of life is saved, who am I to moan, if you disturb the waves, bring distraction into play, hammers will srike your days, separate my defiant song, find a distant tide or sail, an Ocean never scolds listen to what I say.

Saturday, 18 March 2023

Gabi

What it means to cry, within a screaming gale, no use trying to hide, in your bones, no need for a cradle, to find yourself alone, studying a time, when all your measures fail, resurrecting that style, how can you atone, when love forever pales, far away from home, flip a coin see the sky, talk of finding sail, you always leave this way, drink wine from coffee cones, ditch desolate mail, pillory those friendly ghosts, shout no worse than jail, forsake your lovely smile, caress the stony trail, laugh at passing miles.

Franky

I dream of her class, silken not shorn, sweet lineage of her clasp, golden unsought struggling to be born, I stand here forlorn, waiting in the traps, struggling on thorns, a modern day iconoclast, what cant be bought, shivering if torn , gets thrown overboard, what you say overlaps, with the fact I’m gone, hidden under Burlap, sitting there aghast, how to break the corn, someone says I'm mad, wait for the next dance, will she ever be caught, brings me to this pass, barely to nought.

Dany

Can you bring serenity, to this creature in a jar, rescued by the sea, like someone in a grave, bears a different mark, something you can't name, one who sets you free, like a bell from afar, away from childhood screams, maybe it's a different age, we drive around in cars, but I still feel strange, nothing fills my need, except a salty bog, somewhere I can dream, dance along the waves, sail wrapped around a spar, ditch all the wreckage, are you listening Ma?

Wednesday, 15 March 2023

Ceri

Clouds furl around the sky, death brings no easy due, even when we die, who cares what’s at stake, it always turns for you, burning coal in the grate, something deep inside, sets ablaze no ordinary cue, even when you deny, the barriers we make, not to look like fools, tides see us swept away, however hard we try, love is not immune, explore it one more time, lying if we castigate, something inside the blue, you can never walk away, when we’ve had a few.

Tuesday, 14 March 2023

Britney

Can't get around the news, that you’ve slipped away, dollars tell the truth, you stepped off the Metro, finished up your day, left us on the stones, I haven't got a clue, what in heaven's name, we’re going to do, everything the kids call home, doesn’t seem the same, dogs are well rid of you, I sing hopeless tunes, trapped within their gaze, everything turns blue, you just went for broke, as if it was some game, who will pay the loans, If I’m a bitter fruit, I’ll set it on your plate, now that we’re going, to cross an Ocean again.

Monday, 13 March 2023

Abi

She has some spark, her lovely face lights, early as the lark, she hankers for love, most of her nights, doesn’t worry what's above, in a supermarket car park, they ask her why, she hangs around the bars, says we all need a crust, black suits her fine, she doesn’t drink doubles, never walks far, to gossip is no crime, each step another war, works without gloves, remembers her lines, Okay, when it's good, but never needs a chart, to know what's right, she’ll give it some thought, maybe next time.

Sunday, 12 March 2023

Zac

Since you've gone away, I don't know what to do, but each night pray, laugh at the hurricane zones, see your face in whirlpools, where you now call home, ashamed of the days when hurt surrounds you, wondering if there’s anyway, you’d give me a loan, even when I blew, gardens need to grow, my hair is turning grey, they say I’m a pheromone, always floating on the make, don’t want to be alone, denying what is true, forget the rolling stone, your eyes are like jade, I’ll bust any curfew, to search for our remains, on sunny afternoons.

Saturday, 11 March 2023

Willie

I stand by her grave, where praise be, I hope to be saved, tarred eyes like thunder, wine dark as the sea, love makes me shudder, it’s clear from the Nave, crooked in the lee, she has nothing left, here and there a cluster, Poplar trees, wave without lustre, my voice starts to break, it's late for the season, geese are well away, her face was a wonder, happy laughing sweet, that I tore asunder, it now opens for me.

Friday, 10 March 2023

Veronica

You burn the tar, explode in constant feuds, speed ups in your car, trips with the radio on, drinking Coke and juju’s, you never treat alone, always play the part, spill out your excuses, right from the start, it takes a heart of stone, to ignore what you’re doing, all the wind that's blowing, hands that go too far, smear lipstick, stuff I use, no way am I your tart, splutter down the ‘phone, act like a distant cousin, don’t need your fandango, summer’s sweet perfume, it's you falling apart, dancing to your lousy tunes I smoke a Lucky Star.

Ulyana

Is it peace or fame, that takes you higher, or keeps away the rage, shuffling out the gloom, chanting to the wind, who will fly to you, many come this way, they pester you for hire, ask and ask again, tell them what to do, their faces dire, bones forever blue, an offering to the highway, a burnt-out tyre, this is all you give, is any kindness due, replacing warm desire, what is left of virtue, if you play with fire?

Wednesday, 8 March 2023

Taylor

I'd gamble it all away, don't care what I do, you won’t stop my rage, in winter's iron maw, there is no sweet Neptune, just a shallow thaw, watch ships in the bay, work is such a dude, what they give as pay, everyone is sore, bells ring out on cue, no one can save anymore, smoke Camels in the rain, every phone in use, they play us at our game, love comes tied with cord, I don’t really hate, but stuff makes me roar, feel betrayed.

Tuesday, 7 March 2023

Suzie

My song brings good mojo, It maybe flawed, but it beats going solo, we aim to please, whoever takes the tour, love always lands on me, shrieks with my band alone, blending songs and notes, breaks our bones to perform, crowds mad as jumping beans, scream us on for more, don’t you dig this scene, whirl around in my zone, like we did before, our time is never done, sun dances on the sea, pierces to the ocean floor, hello sweet dreams, hanging with the poor.

Monday, 6 March 2023

Romy

Tell me what's new, do you ever help the poor, always smart on cue, you don’t say please, barge through any door, an entitled sense of ease, wherever there’s a queue, you’ll work that floor, bust any curfew, bad guys on the street, never make you pause, won’t hear of stolen dreams, following life’s issues, forget doing chores, they only make you Blue, you know what’s seen, on all your gorgeous walks, you’ll never beg release, signals of a semaphore.

Sunday, 5 March 2023

Quiana

You came to us in bits, a crisis of your blood, somehow nothing fits, you make the claim, that words misunderstood, never reach the Pale, forget those yellow lists, they do no-one any good, chained by your kids, wait another day, give this life a plug, take them on holiday, simply do what we insist, it won’t drive you nuts, seize these days as gifts, you are not someone crazy, who gets a little overun, we cater for every taste, who needs a chorus ?

Saturday, 4 March 2023

Patricia

Never stops for gain, every task in Lent, doesn't feel the strain, or get sore, putting up old defences, scratched namings at the door, no matter what it takes, she’s always present, to the eternal waste, fools might sing for applause, clap hands like the rest, but ignore the real score, no need to remonstrate, just brings out our best, but when the night breaks, her heart soars, scatters us then, always asks for more, her investment spent.

Thursday, 2 March 2023

Nula

You always try to calculate, what’s squirrelled safe inside, beyond my idea of taste, who it is you treat, so far from common cry, when life is never easy, your lips can’t fake, neither can they lie, stood before the magistrate, if we could only see, instead of wanting to fly, stuff that lets us be, terrible supplies of opiates, vodka tonics crusty wines, who needs them anyway, try to follow dreams, winter in warm climes, oceans that bring sleep, face what’s on the line.

Wednesday, 1 March 2023

Millie

What hurts most inside, something in your face, eyes open wide, all you need to know, no longer drums like rain, more a fallen snow, next to a lover’s why, I see you look away, all you do is cry, a million ways to show, I absolve you of blame, nowhere else to go, discarded in our time, us writers of the Plains , the barometer slides, drink away our woes, I once jumped rail, whisky face aglow, try to raise your game.
