If i asked for a name, to shame your dull life, would you think me insane, your consoling betrays, a greater hurt than mine, where does it lay, as i dance my evasions, whispering to the night, between you and hate, aboard the roaring train, bring me to the fire, make me sing like rain, to quell the burning flames, give the peace of Aquinas, teach me how to tame, the illusions i crave, thrill me with wine, love me with fifty claims, praise this time.

What brings me to this night, lets me pray at previous tears, to the walls this life, when you can easily cry, or dance before demons, H block kids who wonder why, regular as the five and dime, lemon tart as their fears, knives a sparkly birth right, you see the creep of moon, stars are white and clear, before any whispered sigh, the cool evening night, bereft of drama or lonely pier, comes when debt's put right, see the road with inner sight, we live or die in here, the first one offers wine, others circle near.

Sometimes i am squeezed, with the smiles she makes, her manner sleepy easy, love lights mark her cheeks, Nina is playing, by the old Levee, when she was free, New Orleans was shaking, washed sea green, the moon her leader, knows what she's doing, in a magnolia cotton sheet, her long gait and knees, pulls at my traces, makes a whispered plea, does it scare me really, listening to the rain, in a room that creeks, then turns opaque.

Does your husband's curfew, make you to suffer still, light holy candles be rude, give money to every fool, see you stumble, fall ill, draw salt at your blues, incant you with perfume, when life becomes shrill, cut your love collect dues, or will they see a river bloom, worrying at the chill, of someone else's moods, the ones who say see you soon, turn laughter to dust still, with dreams of good news, put you in a Catholic refuge, scrub away your thrills, hold freedom sing awful tunes, worry about your will ?

Those little bits of you, ignore schemes that immobilise, you need more than hooks, don't settle for any news, roll, dance, find someone wise, stay at sea, or brook, philosophers who soothe, only the edge is fine, find your own truth, read all your books, they always give reasons why, don't overlook, your piece of ruin, seize the time 'as mine,' wear jeans and shiny shoes, fall for anyone's Blues, try to inspire, why you always pay dues, take me to the fire.

My time gone by unspoken, not even drunk enough to try, afraid of kids, family broken, our place gone by boarded, beyond the grave here's a why, love here feels crowded, bridges where we stand soaking, outside heaven’s why, you look shrunk and folded, a mystery horizon foreboded, come on love you sigh, sing a song don't blow it, feels like i've been sold, being brave only to try, and question this summer’s form, to rescue god or coax, a button from the sky, not just some little token, more to wear with pride.
