Olivia
She laughs and hums a tune,
says its stupid to lie,
this is just what we do,
like a dog with a bone,
you don't want a fight,
just leave it alone,
we skirt what’s in the room,
she gives another sigh,
kids give her the blues,
late at home,
they carry a tortured why,
don't let them roam,
more like a whispered ooh,
her failing highs,
are what’s left to rue,
guilty people do atone,
but the same snuffled exercise,
is a running nose,
her shape in ruins,
she beseeches the sky,
what is she to do,
take up flying?

Brilliant stones,
whisper your name,
waters shift and groan,
in trouble all you need,
is solace every day,
make sure you never feel,
totally alone,
cafe's swell with rain,
best not to moan,
hold onto your creed,
don't fall for gain,
take holidays by the sea,
Calcium's good for bones,
try to stay sane,
no one really atones,
that bird who has needs,
says it's not a game,
sings that she's free,
just let her go,
dance amongst flames,
problems the wind blows,
no love without pain.

Francine Three
You're going nowhere,
she doesn't want to gloat,
paints her face dead slow,
she has scraped my bones,
has an Italian home,
doesn't care for show,
says she's suffered you know,
in Paris or New York,
keeping up this cheerful tone,
since our time in Rome,
men with iPhones,
makes crowds at her door,
we are leaving Palermo,
Linguini and exorbitant loans,
it takes energy to go,
she's such a generous soul,
working the blow,
everyone she meets is Joe
she fastens the rope.

Francine Deux
Times we thought to share,
the yellow light of feasting,
she dreams of nowhere,
let others condone,
that passing disease,
of broken homes,
more than any flair,
she'll do what's needed,
including what's fair,
love's angry tones,
sweeps down to her knees,
like broken water,
thoughts hide her despair,
I know why she's leaving,
the duties of care,
a used loading stone,
she stands by the sea,
swears that it's over,
at play or in prayer,
she cries when released,
wonders if she'll dare, s
it isn't easy.

Francine
Who knows if she's right,
or even if she's skimming,
water, sky, sunlight,
like the river off Burbo Bank,
her smile arrives brimming,
where my lonely heart sank,
she never leaves a family’s side,
but knows her own following,
did someone make her cry,
her lungs open like a tank,
she understands my limits,
could undress a ham shank,
next to me like a bride,
her lips twist for filleting,
why constant why,
tobacco blonde full of lies,
a lover who goes swimming,
many a royal night,
she dances in the tide,
her fame is just beginning,
nails me with that smile,
fresh, alive, winning.

Jay Two Oh
Signs that say we're done,
well before sunset,
ashes scattered and gone,
god's association dues,
our astonished bet,
no whispered thank you,
fire and distant thunder,
why we had to set,
the unfettered free amongst us,
my tongue is like glue,
no matter what the debt,
can't count two and two,
don't know where we're from,
tired of making threats,
beyond our daily stone,
these are not our blues,
the houses that we let,
fighting over what to do,
how my world slumbers,
somewhere there's a jet,
night winds sing a number,
my arms hold her yet.

Your smile makes me prance,
a fear of being caught,
by your smart chit chat,
take all the chaff,
you show around the course,
smoke and look daft,
what others have found,
singing myself hoarse,
is what you call balance,
they might just dance,
but you rake me worse,
with your faded flowers,
you hold my hand and ask,
is this what we're taught,
sip whisky from a flask,
tell me forget the past,
you know about horses,
how to turn them out,
why not take a chance,
forget whose been bought,
come with me to France,
those lovely waters.
