Who can resist, or diminish your flame, sometimes by a hungry kiss, hidden in a dangerous folly, it's a terrible waste, supplicants sway at your feet, those who think you are it, turn to me and say, are we being remiss, rain pools tick with heat, sunshine leaves them little space, no wind is fleeting, let them all go piss, you cry again, prayer will absolve us, for everything is least, to blow our troubles away, they'll fall from the tree, uncertain questions, fill our day, some fool seeks your justice, or whatever remains.

Does it work a treat, sitting stunned around a Pool, vodka tonics cocktail cherries, what your tongue can't undo, or your bones won't fool, don't try to delude, on yellow sand to redeem, all that hides from you, scrubbed white by the sea, you won't break this mood, 'till you find what to do, just how much to lose, it's hard to be discreet, what you've been through, so try to laugh easy, when your fire turns blue, let trees carry the news, they won't disguise the truth, stand before what's empty, shake what holds onto you, find sudden energy, cast those chains loose.

My eyes fix a place, where we just carry on, no one feels the pain, or cares for our ways, a river rises then is gone, beyond any time haze, then she sees my face, the running line of alcohol, red veins seriously plain, say I'll soon be away, a wolf howls at the moon, the opposite of coming home, maybe I'll take a train, search for a winter stove, somewhere across the Bay, who knows raise the game, a trap of broken runs, better my thoughts this way, to beat disgrace, like some walking bomb, does anyone really say, we do it all alone?

During these long nights, side by side for harmony, don't ask me why, when there's no stain, always comes peace, no one shows us the way, we are cool socialites, why bother to take heed, we sail on the lies, inquire about pain, a long, silent feeling, we won't do that again, bags too heavy to fly, it's fun going to seed, let us not ever fight, a morning cold rain, a horizon once so bright, a splintered sun unnamed, she says it's my right I want to be free, she sings from on high, below us the sea.

I dream of her class, silken not torn, listen to the gasps, struggling to think, like being unborn, I reach for the sink, dance in the traps, stitch her with thorns, a modern day iconoclast, shuddering to blink, at what I've bought, bring out more drink, what you say overlaps, sticks in my thoughts, more luck than the cat, gliding at the ice rink, skating forlorn, I wait for the clink, at the next pass, broken unsought a love on the last, God knows it's wrought.

Your life's been bad, where a seed is torn, unlike mine let it be said, you never bring the sea, or artists bright unknown, for all you act my queen, in danger of losing cred, you cry but never show, what you think is less, how can this ever be, when someone makes you moan, you throw away your keys, make with lipstick instead, your skin golden brown, sashay your way to bed, it's a loving creed, that you need to cope, not a false sense of ease, give us our daily bread, make it warm as toast, you who lightly tread, towards our home.

What it means to try, within a screaming gale, no use trying to lie, in your bones, who needs a trial, to find yourself alone, you look at the time, your measures fail, it seems a while, you think you can atone, when love trails, and someone asks you home, flip a coin see the sky, talk of finding sail, it always ends this way, drink wine from a broken cone, must be some good mail, throw stones at ghosts, it's worse than jail, forsaken beyond what's right, you hit the rails, on that lonely mile.
