Fear is dark around the bight, makes me swallow ancient flame, wait for lamps to shine, when I'm near to you, I'm coming back to stay, colour makes for different hues, and this life dead right, it takes a moment to pray, drink a little sweet wine, there are no avenues, I can't explain, trying for good news, laughter's sometimes a bitter rhyme, no one's here to blame, for part of me crying, don't need fire to hide, or put my thoughts away, we'll return on the tide, beyond this moonless night, I need you to state, not remain in silence, we'll go home again.

Why is it always you, that makes it seem, you'll never ring the Blues, cold weather animals live alone, they don't know disease, always know where to roam, even if the wind blows cruel, it won't stop your dreams, everyone sheds a few, come over here dead slow, scream on bended knee, nothing beats a loving tone, sing when you've had a few, now is just our history, you always bring good news, even on days you 'phone, you're never creepy, forget you're not at home, laugh the way you do, it's never just the sea, no desert frightens you, or makes you believe.

A paper tort across my knees, why take from me the child, can't you let us be, when you bring this news, fury in your smile, say it's not just you, tamed, broken, ill at ease, you ignore all the signs, believe what you want to believe, even if I lose, a power beyond my sign, you always claim the virtue, to wrap around your knees, whisper prayers at night, carried like some disease, the terms you nearly blew, become your heaven's insight, speedy lawyers man the crew, before you have me reeling, I beg for one more time, you won't stop me screaming, a life will end tonight,

Love holds the door ajar, your hair falls down like wine, it doesn't get you very far, you sit around a Pool, drinks will mix in time, who needs more bad news, or ask about your Ma, just another line, lonely as a shooting star, the money she blew, in a poor easy light, just another fool, find a home another car, forget about her lies, wonder why you're scarred, there must be a tool, to crush the hurt inside, find that other part of you, maybe scrawled on the bar, that sees each morning rise, keep those dreams from afar, try to raise your eyes.

A painter of religious scenes, she dabs another glaze, a thirty-year-old has been, regards the work that's honed, never wise in this game, doubts she's ever alone, in yellow nights of dreams, even if she feels the same, it's not what it seems, the canvas lets her roam, the stretch of wooden nails, in many ways she's gone, a matchstick in the sea, lost without a name, floating for eternity, the work is not her own, the pull of certain days, is like some ocean zone, her body aches without relief, deep burned eyes are crazed, her mind is never easy, she sets another frame.

You cross the street, things are never the same, salt hangs on the breeze, danger flashes in your eyes, something in your gait, no need to ask why, dash of perfume in the heat, chasing glory Saturdays, the woman you want to be, do you toe the line, you won't be tamed, nor hold a reason why, this street sets you free, a jewel for your days, silk on an easy sea, inside is no paradise, kids chant your name, this way you'll be fine, seeking truth is never easy, especially in your game, don't become an odyssey, fortune never stays.

Who can resist, or diminish your flame, sometimes by a hungry kiss, hidden in a dangerous folly, it's a terrible waste, supplicants sway at your feet, those who think you are it, turn to me and say, are we being remiss, rain pools tick with heat, sunshine leaves them little space, no wind is fleeting, let them all go piss, you cry again, prayer will absolve us, for everything is least, to blow our troubles away, they'll fall from the tree, uncertain questions, fill our day, some fool seeks your justice, or whatever remains.
