Imelda Three
Lit like some ocean bar,
well within your credit zones,
searching for a forgotten Da,
poor people pay your dues,
yet you drink alone,
he leaves you here to stew,
you can only play La La,
before asking for more loans,
they only go so far,
even without a feud,
on throwaway 'phones,
you need more shoes,
your hair is like tar,
Saints reveal their bones,
something inside you whispers Nah,
the trail is well used,
you can't leave these homes,
life circles around you,
yours is not a lucky star,
husband always needs right tones,
this place is your Spa,
tales of love a joke.

Imelda Two
Don't break holy orders,
or claim upon your mother,
all that stuff you swore,
free to bestow,
what it is you smother,
a place without hope,
can't you see the score,
like an uneven solder,
welded to useless mores,
whoever comes up short,
you'll curse a brother,
fix him with the law,
hard stuff behind your door,
a life stripped without bother,
then run away fraught,
no book or deeds sought,
brings you with our others,
you ignore the call,
run without a border,
always be a lover,
life within you's raw,
better take another.

Imelda
I can't say let's go,
or ask you to align,
all those bitter sorrows,
what you issue,
burning with your fire,
no one gets to choose,
or chances to follow,
on dancing wires,
where you won't say No,
I can play the fool,
echoing what's right,
braying like a mule,
other than more fandango's,
in every dreams cold light,
there's a room without windows,
a place smoky blue,
where you won’t lose sight,
of what is true,
if you'd let me show,
what I had in mind,
riding out the blow,
checking in the time.

Johnny Four
I throw away the years,
every pie has its crust,
the laughs and happy tears,
life wears no crown,
for those who say you must,
in the Ocean towns,
she came in like the deer,
with a smell of musk,
in hazy bars withstands leers,
I knew she'd be hounded,
spinning pennies in the dust,
someone never grounded,
what brought her here,
against everything she trusts,
a woman crystal clear,
no book or Courtroom brown,
hides the fact she's bust,
I just let her down,
blow flame across my fears,
share bad jokes and puts,
pray for those who disappear,
somewhere in the dusk.

John Three
Let me engage,
your lovely feet to dance,
in rooms with dark spaces,
you always play the fool,
wait for kindness to pass,
try to make life smooth,
nothing's more to say,
so little of pure chance,
when you pull away,
rage against life's Blues,
lilac as a lonely fast,
don't let them get to you,
life is framed,
your face is tanned,
gliding down the freeway,
tell you what to do,
pull over make a stance,
you're no fool,
twirl me 'round again,
make me bounce,
say what you want to say,
you'll get another chance.

Johnny Two
Since you've been at home,
we don't know what to do,
each night pray alone,
sleep this time of day,
hear you snore the blues,
nothing more to say,
you break the maddened stone,
ask what’s up with you,
who cares who atones,
the walls are turning grey,
sin is not your tune,
you've eaten all your cake,
say you have to go,
to always play the fool,
carry your bag of tomes,
confined within this space,
earn your piece of truth,
lilac as a snowflake,
sing and praise our bones,
see the creep of moon,
new horizons better than loans,
take them as your due.

Johnny
Standing by an unlit lamp,
a tree, a bridge, shaking,
looking like a tramp,
I listen to the news,
someone else to berate,
other cud to chew,
better take a chance,
if I play this game,
either that or France,
hoping I'm not askew,
wondering what's to gain,
singing out the blues,
all this stuff about path,
they c'n scatter my remains,
no more wounds to lance,
someone will bring a few,
say Halleluja what a day,
drink before we're screwed,
cigarettes and laughs,
beers drunk like champagne,
life here's a dance,
turning into rain.
