Don’t come back this way, to see the ruins, hung as we separate, a tired game, I play cool, but dream of the day, just what it takes, a celebration at noon, you to remain, I can’t explain, there are no avenues, to keep me in shape, here in the shade, weeping for you, my thoughts drip like rain, are you made of clay, I howl at some tune, I’m not too late, no matter what we sing, or what we say, love must find a way, in yellowy spring.

I wonder if she's right, to dream of the sea, lilac as the night, she’ll dance and parade, make faces at the enemy, her soul works this way, the shouts and the fights, stake her release, time is her lightning, he r eyes bear the fray, it’s cold in the season, she wants away, what comes down the wire, before she flees, is tossed in the fire, she carries no dismay, is done with feelings, what are they anyway, bags weigh heavy at night, no fun to believe, we’ll always be tight, she’ll always love me.

Paul Three

It’s only half true, when you smell the Limes, on a windblown avenue, act like you don’t know, forget ties that bind, feel it in your bones, try to stay aloof, say you know what’s right, except there's no clue, you’re not alone, these desolate nights, let others keep score, don’t rage and argue, not like it’s a crime, let the fire warm you, you have to keep going, in the cold evening light, when the kid's phone, they speak of your virtues you’re not inclined, to know that you're through, It’s just a strange time.

The sun rises in steam, cars fill up their lanes, this won't wait 'till evening, beyond me the morning sky, still needs to frame, all that is carried outside, a rush down the freeway, coffee tastes the same, I need a good reason, to wait in line, it matters that you stay, not go off this time, my dawn novena, is stowed like a hurricane, my bones ache a treat, I know it’s not fine, between times I pray, ask for more red wine, bars bring a sweet release, do I have to say again, it’s not my swollen feet, that carry my name.

Paul

Don't turn away silent, you’ll go home again, maybe in a better time, do what we can alone, it need not bring shame, rivers flow on their own, laugh in warmer climes, no one is to blame, part of me is dying, beyond this war zone, the shifting hand of fame, a place you well know, returns us to the tide, all you need to say, wrapped up inside, when promises get broken, and spirits dance aflame, I'll bring you call tokens, love weighs heavy at night, howls in ancient places, waits for lamps to shine, will you stay the same?

Before you came for me, who carried your light, bobbing on the sea, they say it isn't you, in whispered prayers at night, do they know the truth, somewhere at my feet, I lose all the signs, am I supposed to believe, even with the news, a power beyond my sight, am lost without virtue, lust is a bitter feed, it always asks me why, is there something to glean, by howling at the moon, words fall ill at ease, some mask an open tomb, it gapes at my knees, will you wait this time, if you could only see, how lovely is my smile

Who can ever say, we’ll warm our bones, when we've been away, the picture's not bright, you can cry but don’t, home is not kind, thoughts that are splayed, where we come from, are not put on display, like this harvest light, with hardly a sound, there’s no gentle sky, maybe we'll take a train, like a winter's stove, warms us to dream, a horizon blind, we navigate alone, seeking what’s right, a line on my face, says just carry on, everyone in this game, stands their ground.
