Joe Three
Don’t care what you say,
try to love excessively,
make each day a holiday,
geese with barren tones,
make my blood ease,
sing around my shoulders,
they honk on their way,
they’re late for the season,
I'm just the same,
in the blue dawn,
stripped down like a tree,
I trade between homes,
two nights is a stay,
it’s beyond any reason,
there’s news of my game,
being alone’s,
a light in the sacristy,
shining then gone,
donkey’s bray,
a moment seized,
the gardens where I pray,
beyond is the sea.

I get the heeby jeebies,
my soul strung out tight,
you better set me free,
in my eyes amour,
have to do what's right,
splash the Eau de Cologne,
rock me gently,
say everything's fine,
I'm always your baby,
A host of lost lovers,
all of them crying,
rise up from the floor,
I'm solemn, serene,
you kiss me quietly,
do what I’ve dreamed,
a perfect score,
am I just weaned,
drawn a toil of water,
sleep to the sea,
I swear to the night,
let me reach the quays,
I’ll blaze like a fire.

When love begins to sway,
you dance and play,
whatever the time,
it's a lonely path alone,
not having a frame,
an Iliad far from home,
we sit out the fray,
anchors take the strain,
ride the tide and wait,
listening to the stones,
it’s better than to cry,
we'll be gone,
so far away,
reasons more to say,
let us not fight,
our horizons honed,
try to sail away,
carry the flow,
there'll be no stain,
the moon is our gain,
this strong lovely night,
brings us the day.

Can you identify,
one easy thing,
between moon and sky,
what has been emptied,
makes other parts sing,
by this waterside,
you need no inquiry,
where dreams become nothing,
and then buried,
who needs a dime,
when we all think,
it’s such a good time,
some drive Mercedes,
laugh as they fling,
this stuff makes us happy,
each stage of life,
ends in a blink,
men kiss their wives,
in a summer's twilight,
you might hear it ring,
a bell on a kite,
some want to fly.

Blame it all on fate,
that I don’t exist,
a trick played too late,
the earth groans,
like it has a stitch,
love has gone home,
will anything change,
it depends on the playlist,
be a cheek to say,
take me by the elbow,
play music from the hits,
whisper on the iPhone,
hearts dance in this place,
smells like the pits,
I walk around in a haze,
a dancer from another zone,
with a yellow list,
turns to me and goes,
why is life a race,
when you let it spin,,
luck always shows its face,
what am I missing?

It's quiet here now,
after years of his need,
my face smooth as stone,
I still see the grave,
where praise be,
his soul is saved,
we arrived in the snow,
to this new territory,
God only knows,
grant me the days,
where I act carefree,
not confined by intestates,
men with barren tones,
say have a drink on me,
cry on my shoulder,
they plead for a stay,
at this house of reason,
to laugh is no shame,
in the blue dawn,
bells ring excessively,
I make my way home,
beyond is the sea

You keep trouble at bay,
any life requires,
problems look away,
when beseeched for a loan,
scrutinise the tide,
you're not alone,
stumble on a great escape,
dampen cool desire,
it's easy to be brave,
drenched to the bone,
a bird on the wire,
will you take him home,
an offering to be saved,
like a cold fish knife,
seeks same lonely fate,
a walk on blue stones,
passed Saint Elmo’s light,
is this where he moans,
I love the rain,
a burning pyre,
the taste on your palate,
a soul on fire.
