Since we've been away,
i don't know what to do,
but each night pray,
you break the maddened stone,
is it finished for you,
old one’s still at home,
keep the time of day,
hear them sing of truth,
nothing more to say,
no choice but to go,
always read the dunes,
roll like rolling stones,
the walls have turned grey,
love is not our ruin,
we’ve eaten all our cake,
confined within our roles,
there’s little we can do,
the desert has our bones,
you sing a song of praise
see the creep of moon,
new horizons will be great,
embrace them as our due.

Working here's no paradise,
It only takes two,
on the street’s edgy side,
it could be great
stars and sea like glue,
stardust on our plate,
all we need's a better crack,
show what we can do,
to save us from the fire,
our songs still resonate,
no feeling about what’s true ,
home’s a better place,
this district is our life,
jumps for me and you,
naked transport lights,
shower all what we create,
singing with the kitchen crew,
we won’t hesitate,
to blow our easy nights,
when we see what’s new,
even the way we try,
to stay within the loop .

You appear alone,
a picture up in lights,
or scrawled across a wall,
if love holds true,
knows which bells to strike,
soldered each part of you,
tell me you're at home,
no matter how we fight,
beat our yellow bones,
we are not for fools,
handsome before our time,
fighting off the blues,
you scream down a ‘phone,
say there is no paradise,
a flame out of control,
for all your high reviews,
dreams pass out of sight,
wind blows cold hard truth,
clouds ride black and bold,
before an early fire,
you sing less to atone,
than fill me with desire.

Here in an empty Saloon,
I fear this sad game ,
It brings me no news ,
shadows make strokes,
across the window panes,
shocked again I'm broke,
songs of a dismal fugue,
from the train station,
whistle their blues,
St Anthony alone,
says loss is certain gain,
but when you need loans,
let me hold this balloon,
dance on table shapes,
encircle with my perfume
to exist alone,
with him gone on 'planes,
is further down the road,
beyond the Dunes,
lying near the break,
will he return in truth,
will we dance on waves?

Katerina
In a supermarket yard,
her lovely face moved,
by rain and the dark,
worn clothes at present,
across trolley she’s heard,
where they make bets,
a spirit with some spark,
she comes here to rest,
and just carry on,
it’s a rare clerk
not put to the test,
when clearing this park,
she won’t forget this lot,
they don’t soar like larks,
precise in their movement,
she works at Waitrose,
makes lists when off clock,
but life is no joke,
is there ever a chart,
to enumerate corrections,
gives food to no marks,
all vagrants now?

In any place,
when you figure it,
there's always an Old Lady,
while the kitchen shakes,
chefs toil in fits,
to get a living wage,
they’re all on the make,
with these new gadgets,
that circle this space,
my back quits the race,
no smile can shift,
around the pain,
it spins before my face,
a lover in a launderette,
puts me out the game,
hangs me on a door frame,
music from a tablet,
plays again and again,
it'd be wrong to say,
love doesn’t exist,
but when she sees my mate,
looks like a hit.

When you see a radiant star,
does it make you scream,
knowing that it’s too far,
with children and dogs,
just stay as you please,
in a warm hazy fog,
send my ship up there,
to the sea of tranquility,
bear with me the scars,
is this what you want,
meals and cups of coffee,
all the stuff i don't,
put whisky in my jar,
my fares have not increased,
what the hell's going on,
am I someone from Mars,
on bended knee,
playing Blues in a box car,
tend to all my needs,
put money on the bar,
bring me peace.
