Rae
A crescent moon at Easter,
I know why I'm loved,
but want to be free,
surrounded by icy streets,
I turn my jacket up,
to a steady pea green sea,
have I reached a breach,
Our Lady holds a dove,
no matter who gets released,
it’s a cold light believing,
in this time of trouble,
if I can skip the seasons,
by the ferry at Seacombe,
I wander past dockside rubble,
scream a daughter's feelings,
no prayers for the cheaters,
my family’s good enough,
but cannot know the reason,
why I cut so rough.

Quianna
Her day is just beginning,
she dances in the tide,
fresh and alive and kicking,
she kills me with her spin,
next to me like a bride,
twists her lips like shillings,
around a constant ciggy,
tobacco blonde full of lies,
a dancer if not delicious,
like the river with water in,
her smile beams estuary wide,
watching my heart give,
she isn’t free from sinning,
who left a family’s side,
but sailed in full trimmings,
an Orphea used to thrill,
a Gull made to glide,
she demands her fill,
sunlight, water, sky.
Pammy
Don't leave your schemes,
with hospice assistants,
yearn for lost leanings,
that's for blond curls,
who don’t know the distance,
you were never that girl,
but a shipwrecked queen,
a golden gate sister,
a purveyor of dreams
the whorl of time’s whirl,
spread your resistance,
redeemed all the nervous,
you talked like a Dean,
at your midnight entrance,
did not need movie screens,
an angel at the fair,
cool to be different,
where burdens are learned,
always in white jeans,
when death begs for justice,
you won't expire keening,
you’ve done it for us. .

Ophelia
Do we keep or burn,
a love like gas,
the flame turned down,
you can see the blue,
now time has passed,
not strung out on spoons,
it's enough to turn,
the house won't collapse,
somehow you'll convert,
words to laden schooners,
a truth come to pass,
bars are full of losers,
I’ll work away and churn,
poems to hold you fast,
drink from Grecian urns,
act as your muse,
warm your fingers at the tap,
switch it up,
disaster makes me laugh.

Nula
When you talk coastlines,
when you chance rain,
what is the punchline,
don't waste my hours,
coming home you say,
I’ve brough some flowers,
what you think is a lie,
you smile at the windowpane,
wait for moods to fly,
stand there and lower,
eyes at some distant train,
the suburbs your bower,
abridged suits you fine,
your Da bears the blame,
think of our youngest child,
why act like a spy,
behind your work days,
be witness to the crime,
no toll without paying.

Marjoram
Please don’t let them see,
why they ring our feet,
we only asked for freedom,
your consoling dove,
a village soul and shady tree,
here in this crowded boat,
pray and pray to achieve,
bitter chants of make believe,
sad eyes show only greed,
we have coursed with blood,
this swarm of human seed,
did only things we could,
salved the wounds of refugees,
Lesbos and a moonlit sea,
help us only to retrieve,
what we’ve lost in love,
meet with smiles our greeting,
instead of voices rough,
we don’t expect things easy.

Lucy
Before you turned to me,
carried me with your flight,
I knew to be free,
who gave you that legitimacy,
the love I thought right,
the fire you released,
ships fanned for their speed,
whisper at night,
you were my every need,
sunlit gardens at Thebes,
a power beyond my sight,
you left me solitary,
three days I wept inside,
whole cities heard me cry,
hearing my song denied,
nailed on Ithaca’s creed,
spare me your delight,
like a broken scream,
you’ll see my siren smile.
