Now you've left home, they say it's your time, but where has it gone, you used to believe, everything's fine, better when you leave, tears lachrymose, are now not so kind, far down the road, jokes once your repartee, as a way to unwind, float cold on the street, wake to see what's done, achieve peace of mind, carry the pretty stones, rain starts to ease, there's light in the sky, it brightens the sea, fix a drink with Coke, sharper than wine, put on your coat, not yet gone Nine.

Live or die far or near, wine isn't cheap, but it takes away fear, before any whispered sigh, or hugs from a grenadier, brings me to this night, no drama of lonely piers, dances my wounds to sleep, on boards of inner tears, regular as plain sight, darkness makes me creep, closer to my birth right, what remains is clear, I've fallen in too deep, to remember previous years, loving makes me come alive breathes beside me on the heap, is this him I ask why what is bought so dear, when the moon seeps, is a story everyone hears and someone weeps.

When you see a fading star, it makes me uneasy, knowing they're out so far, children you wish and dogs, then stay as you please, in a warm hazy fog, my ship goes to Mars, but not in tranquility, can't get there by car, if it's not what you want, through all the love seasons, name the stuff you don't, put water in my font, make all my fires increase, tell me what's going on, I'm like someone in the dark, not on a bended knee, but feel like Ziggy Stardust, singing in a boxcar, why scatter all my needs, blow ashes on the bar, I don't do serenity.

When bells ring out the night, I'll make my mark, like a song beseeches why, the goal’s within sight, a warm embrace by dark, give me your sweet sign, dusk falls in green light, our lives over the bar, say we won't ever fight, an American asks why, lovers love in cars, seek audiences world wide, dancers whose fame decides, if the prize's too far, on many a famous night, singing scenes of pure delight, a smoky voice like tar, swells my appetite, there maybe no second lives, but home is my spark, a woman who knows her rights, what a lucky star.

You scatter my beliefs, like ashes from a car, say it brings serenity, blowout all my pay, ask me what's going on, such a terrible waste, clinging to the sea, like someone in a bottle, others won't set you free, it's a different age, you say your pretty smart, but still hesitate, who will fill my needs, like a warm hazy dog, my path from childhood dreams, i'll dance on the waves, all the stuff you're not, scattered in the wreckage, cigarettes aren't good for me, they just leave a scar, holy water is my drink, do you love my Ma ?

Is it love of rain, or a blown out tyre, that you lean against, shuffling in the gloom, asking who is for hire, no one jumps for you, problems they just look away, all a bunch of cryers, no-one's easy or brave, to do what you do, your eyes in the fire, see beyond these blues, make offers to the saved, bend an old fish wire, this is what you give, whisper for someone's due, anyone to enqire, some body to stay true, be the one to rise.

In the Summer light, they herd us poor, gathered on the security line, it's hot for the season, sons and daughters, talk about freedom, on the sidetrack's dusty side, a bitter truth is born, it doesn't merit inquiry, to wake up feeling easy, we are over the border, maybe in our dreams, worry all the down time, if we'll be caught, in some new policy drive, who would believe, we stay here comported, do we make a guilty plea, ask for a little water?
