Look at the moon, a spring tide today, love turns around too soon, the birds who have flown, seeking away, sing as they go, my eyes fill like pools, wouldn't it be great, to find someone new, it's a hurricane zone, where no one reigns, to oversee the loans, someone not cruel, but kind and sedate, someone not like you, where the wind blows, all emotion is played, my emptiness gone, the good parts were cool, clear as acetate, you forgot about dues, high across the flames?

Why always ask why, accept what you’ve chosen, before stopping to deny, stare into dead space, your mouth frozen, issuing stupid phrases, sing your favourite lines, time is done with roses, accept all you decry, beyond children’s faces, neither shrunken nor spoken, regale wonderful relations, even at the graveside, witness true love's bonus, watch clouds sail the sky, care settles any debate, don’t wonder what follows us, let go of the traces, keep flowers at your side, just some little token, beyond a wish to verify, we remain unbroken.

Never one to search for gain, every task is spent, working in the rain, don't get sore, putting up new fences, I'm waitiong here indoors, you know what it takes, to grant me a presence, an ungrateful reprobate, fools sing for applause, they have no credence, I count out the score, no need to celebrate, to bring me your best, life is not a game, two and two makes four, I'll alter your defences, will always demand more, see how you hesitate, your invested rent, in night's cool probate, exploring good friends.

When donkeys start to bray, we sit by the fire, you turn to me and say, its a lonely path alone hung by a wire, crossing the sea like Homer, we can't take a train, never mind the time,. just sit here and wait, this is our home, not all a sweet desire, but still no rolling stone, watch all the silly games, tell which gun's for hire, explosions getting paid, our horizon's broken, no sail shines too bright, love's our little token, so far we remain OK, who needs insight, blankets aren't for slaves, take our own sleepovers, who cares about rights, a silent tombola, rescues our days.

Listrning to your news, struggling in the break, like last winter's blues, no horizon's bright, for the mark's a stain, always claining your rights, it makes life a purlieu, a forest untamed, possessing terrible attributes, never did make the time, to hear a donkey bray, you sit by a fire, before sunrise bears fruit, your hope drains away, say no one reaches you, every wondered why, enquires about your pain, make us all take fright, we're bored stupid too, your fortunes hold sway, rain dance on the roof, we hide to escape.

You ask me what's new, never one to help the poor, your stuff arrives on cue, did you ever say please, divined by any whore, never a sense of ease, always ahead of the queue, exploding into bedrooms, you'd bust any curfew, bad guys on the street, a foil for your cause, let you hear the screams, it pulls your life askew, hacking out your chores, sweating on the latest news, they know where you've been, all your furious tours, whose turn now to bleed, you never were my glue, dancing on some crowded floor, your head full of ruin, tilting at my door.

I simply try to calculate, how many walls you climb, beyond the spike of jail, your lips can't fake, disguise the taste of wine, stood before the magistrate, present some dreadful state, think you look just fine, brother take a mirror away, it's not easy being great, always wondering why, even in a wooden crate, terrible supplies of trace, roll with citrus limes, no one needs you anyway, I'll take a plane, winter in warm climes, spend your gotten gains, find someone else to bathe, you'll be gone a while, scrutinise my new face, now you're safe inside.
