Do you remember the sea,
the swell and the spray,
our dance of Thebes,
now the kids have flown,
migrated far away,
have their own homes,
we dance on the beach,
at the end of Sunday,
our loving within reach,
each ring of cloud gloom,
is suddenly drained,
to horizon's quite blue,
you grab my left knee,
smile at the way,
my troubles cease,
I'm windblown happy,
I hold your face,
love this old café,
catch moments like these,
listen to what I say,
eat chips in the breeze,
watch my eyes dilate

You say that you rule,
working on the bread line,
to regard all the fools,
think you're so great,
before other's demise,
stop if it's too late,
making you cruel,
what’s going on inside,
the face of miss Cool,
look at me again,
your eyes like fireflies,
what will come your way,
it's a poor gruel,
that overlooks these lies,
maybe all you can do,
lost in this frame,
strike within time,
someone pulls your reins,
burnt out mules,
may offer you insight,
but a greater wisdom,
is being kind.

The love you sow,
never goes to waste,
everywhere is its echo,
you have no need,
to circle each day,
or save enough to flee,
in garments sewn,
by a drunken reprobate,
kindness is your song,
wooden tidal pieces,
keep you engaged,
why search to be free,
you’ve already flown,
away from this game,
you sing as you go,
a house by the sea,
dunes in winter flame,
this makes you happy,
brilliant aristophones,
whisper of your fame,
you are the full show,
star of your passage.

Dream tunes won't hurt,
enough to crack,
our happy little world,
silken tents we've thrown,
will never collapse,
held tight by guy ropes,
plates you sometimes hurl,
is nothing but a laugh,
sweet talk makes you curl,
is this life our own,
in many ways it's crass,
consider parts half gone,
I’m not really perturbed,
whatever time has passed,
flags left unfurled,
belief is constant hope,
will you hold me fast,
better than the slope,
old singers sing or burn,
set me on the path,
turn the flame down,
let's make it last.

Lauren
Face polished as stone,
asks what's it’s to be,
tells me all you know,
chipped away at by time,
the daily useless commentary,
who can answer that,
neck splashed with Cologne,
clouds hang meticously,
zoomed out like photos,
On Sundays we drink wine,
until time freezes,
she is not unkind,
tunes suddenly echo,
and dance beside the sea,
it's easy to lose focus,
out house on the line,
trails bottom of a loan,
you can smell the limes,
as we taste the ozone,
we are beyond carefree,
listen to the phermones,
who needs TV?

The part of you we love,
used to play it short,
dance of life around you,
in this Autumn light,
you’re gone without a call,
clothed in lilac light,
nothing gives us a clue,
no print or written law,
if your trail’s well used,
do we know your plight,
try to stop you go,
with your cards so slight,
we’d never be so rude,
to bleat at others' woes,
hard to take those rules,
what we know of you,
is easy to postpone,
stuff that’s hard to do,
laugh at all your jokes.

Don't say life’s unfair,
many a seed is sown,
holding noses in the air,
if you bring the sea,
to face the bright unknown,
find what’s meant to be,
in someone’s loving care,
drink every drop and know,
all you need to share,
when this can't be beat,
check you were ever born,
feel inside that great need,
fools will always dare,
to make your eyes worn,
dance them lightly on chairs,
throw away your car keys,
enquire with gentle scorn,
what's in their deeds,
make your daily prayer,
keep us warm as toast,
don’t be scared,
love is never lost.
