Izzy
Stand by what I said,
where If I'm lucky,
words are better shred,
my eyes roll in hunger,
wine dark like the sea,
it makes me shudder,
from a blue dread,
strip bare as a tree,
nothing more to give,
here and there a cluster,
poplars rustle in breeze,
they don't pass muster,
my voice has nothing left,
too late for the season,
geese fly overhead,
his face is the wonder,
happy laughing clean,
I slapped at in thunder,
quiet now in my head,
a place of need,
soon take some rest,
before I weep.

On the broken tide,
we watch the poor,
huddled in line,
it's cold for the season,
their sons and daughters,
share one main reason,
on the starboard side,
the missing are sought,
won't need an inquiry,
others shiver in the lee,
their ship has left port,
they look tired of being,
worry about the time,
about being caught,
in some populist drive,
what it teaches,
is to buttress the law,
expect no welcome sea,
weather the storm.

Do you have the spark,
a lovely face at night,
please just stay strong,
no more rolling in mud,
like most of your fights,
focus on what's in front,
from a business car park,
they ask you why,
you hang out at bars,
you say we need a crust,
this work suits me fine,
no point making trouble,
who wants to walks far,
to gossip is a crime,
prefer to reach my mark,
she works without gloves,
unlike other times,
when it's hard being good,
there's never a chart,
to show us what's right,
basks like a shark,
waits for the light.

A cross for a sign,
to where we bang along,
he gives out a sigh,
there’s a deal at Walmart,
he pulls me along,
takes hold of my arm,
talks about why,
we have to be strong,
don't turn to crime
his hair's a jump start,
he hates being wrong,
no one hears my part,
head to the front aisle,
filch our belongings,
run out in plain sight,
never easy alarmed,
but his life's a clock,
tied to the stars,
says that he’s wise,
but sings a sad song,
the stitch in my side,
is an open wound

Does anyone believe,
this message in a jar,
once used to be me,
like something in a frame,
my life has sped afar,
things difficult to name,
It's the one whod snrieks,
clings to distant stars,
hangs on childhood dreams,
maybe this different age,
sends me like a card,
makes it all seem strange,
you never filled my need,
within thiss milky fog,
even when I screamed,
the crash of the waves,
will carry me like cargo,
a freight almost wreckage,
all stuff you’re not.

Delilah
On your tramp ship at sea,
I swear to the night,
you won’t hear from me,
like a chain saw,
buzzing with lies,
they hang your cabin door,
my lost fidelity,
between moon and sky,
can you wonder why
from the earth's poor,
my terrible cries ,
raise the ocean's floor,
you’ll see me in weeds,
my lips blue tight,
then you’ll be free,
for now on the shore,
I’ll do what's right,
there’ll be no furore,
you'll fear my eyes.

Chloe
Clouds furl the sky,
death brings no easy due,
even when you die,
who cares what’s fake,
stuff burns around you,
like wood in the grate,
something deep inside,
if it's not my perfume,
makes you want to fly,
forget barriers I raise,
not to look a fool,
try to stop your getaway,
however much you lie,
you must gift me too,
act like a tide’s high,
go on then remonstrate,
it'll be the end of you,
just go and sail away,
be the last you do..
