Our love of God,
a healing fire,
tells us we belong,
offerings off the docks,
an ice- cold fish knife,
cuts through our songs.
how different is so far,
life's never drawn right,
burdens us in Bars,
angels slip in the fog,
jump neon lit signs,
tell us what we want,
designed by our cars,
a polished desire,
we trip to the font,
our time jolts and rocks,
the situation’s dire,
we need more than stars,
his spirit inside.

Do we keep or burn,
love we thought would last,
a flame could never turn,
you can demand anything,
now it's passed ,
but what does that mean,
something's not fair,
maybe enough to crash,
our rocket down to earth,
gone and it’s raining,
songs of our collapse,
who saw it coming,
please take my words,
they won't provide a map,
yet speak as if shared,
all you did was bring,
stuff to make me laugh,
now there’s nothing,
didn't think of that,

Starboard you wail to me,
is this our resting place,
terrified across the sea,
will we arrive soon,
our lives turn to face,
wondering if there’s room,
aeound us is our equity,
auxiliary lights trace,
a wind battered humility,
no matter what the news,
colder stars won't race,
our dingey to the dunes,
wait for us in eternity,
Our Lady keep us safe,
in waters of Gethsemane,
you who know each fugue,
God shall light your face,
in our night of fortune,
let us hold to pray.

Lucy
Crescent moon a bone,
knows that she is loved,
but wants away alone,
shaped by different parts,
she turns her face above,
thinks of her dear Da,
flees the suburbs to roam,
Our Lady holds a dove,
winter’s night of storms,
her time is of the heart,
no matter what’s she's on,
she doesn't fall apart,
when people sing of home,
in the life to come,
tears tug at once shone,
goes and buys a car,
works at some crummy dump,
his lovely little star,
what's she done ?

Will you see me home,
a flag you have unfurled,
settles across my bones,
you laugh away unspoken,
like you’ve been spurned,
anchors stand for stones,
love is not for roaming,
if a thing is earned,
chairs need fill a home,
smile when I make jokes,
a life on lovely earth,
no wonder that am broke,
ships continue to roll,
sit under trees and stare,
fear my blood is cold,
play at warming scones,
still it makes me scared,
frame our little tokenS,
please help me turn.

My mother used to say,
the scent of a woman,
heaven to those away,
written in the stones,
walking with a pram,
perfume is a moment,
like luck in a game,
when it's gone,
that's time to change,
others simply groan,
over an evening dram,
others hug their bones,
then the cloud break,
and the sun carries on,
I call out your name,
like a cargo boat,
come on home my man,
add you to my hopes.
I’m the one who can.

Who can ever slake,
those who are ruled,
wind rocks and shakes,
in our sorry bones,
is a golden certitude,
the fire gently warms,
like a lovely trade ,
butter memories exude,
all the starts we make,
who will take us home,
driven by drunken fools,
now the lat bus gone,
what will our Ma say,
do we rattle our jewels,
mister give us a break,
standing by the road,
feel something moving,
we are bound to roam,
is our spirit come ?
