Gianna
In a supermarket park,
her lovely face washed,
by rain and river salt,
she dresses to be decent,
her trolley for a brush,
looks at their blankets,
lost without a spark,
they lie here to rest,
she's more than a clerk,
it makes her real upset,
when put to the test,
gazing over their tents,
life around here's stark,
in ways she knows best,
rage never hits the mark,
thinks of what presence,
needs to make any sense,
about a City's expenses,
locked out in some chart,
they say it's a sequence,
please have a heart,
she gathers her baskets.

Frankie
Incandescant as a star,
he's chasing numbers,
leaves all doors ajar,
on a different calendar,
the boss sometimes wonders,
lost with a great heart,
then he buys a car,
all it makes is trouble,
does not run very far,
right from the off,
looking sad and bewildered,
his tears flood the bar,
ten years later on,
I still hear his laughter,
he didn't do extra parts,
endured each false start,
his life done surrendered,
my lipstick is stark,
love always hungers.

Won't it be great,
to dance on fresh grass
say summer's here again,
sadly not a cruise,
famous nights have passed,
all our stuff cut loose,
don't worry about gain,
at supper wait till last,
they will find us grain,
forget what is our due,
dispense with needing cash,
just serve us up some gruel,
we’ll walk again in grace,
spit royally upon the mat,
consider what remains,
we can never choose,
if we're posh or tat,
all we have's our fuel,
know what we celebrate,
sun bounces down like glass,
bring cognac to our taste,
life really is a gas.

Please don't make me sigh,
fading stars nothing new,
between the moon and sky,
I enjoy being alone,
instead of merely duped,
within your sea of loans,
don’t say it's all right,
flush money like a sewer,
better give change a try,
in my make shift home,
sing songs to barrel you,
some of them on banknotes,
sleep sweetly my butterfly,
you’ll soon face the news,
am Suddenly gone from view,
you are in my periscope,
it’s not me to presume,
how you'll crack this code,
malice turns me crude.

Singers dream of home,
Arenas are lonely places,
gazing out alone,
grasping all our fright,
that really is our fame,
how the world seems bright,
heaven to look out upon,
the sea of lovely faces,
shine like polished stones,
from long summer flights,
to every ezotic place,
our soul's somehow light,
but leave us on paths unknown,
doubts creep in like waves,
fear of that talent gone,
waiters dance in fairy lights,
bring cognac to our table,
please God will be alright,
our act of grace remain.

Give me children and dogs,
you can be who you are,
lost in some hazy fog,
please help me to realise,
what's gone on so far,
with someone so unwise,
is this what you want,
waiting for that part,
a tidal wave in your car,
west of these broken skies,
the sea is like a scar,
it always makes me rise,
you need extra money lots,
all my cards are marked,
energy won't reach that far,
does your new love suffice,
assign you all she can't,
little ones would be nice,
grasp astonished stars ?

Amelia
Who do you want to suffer more,
me or your wretched mother,
outside her opera or foodstore,
on a perfect sunny evening,
the kids looked after by others,
all your money goes on winning,
you work out a knowing score,
in life between the covers,
who do you think you are,
certainly wiser than me,
in your sedan washed slumber,
RayBans eye the front seats,
sunlight glints on terrace floor,
music you say brings lovers,
everything about you knawed,
I sip a long Campari,
dusk is a sweet red colour,
an Atlantic bay in Brittany,
you'll die in broken waters.
