Emma
Who don't need a shrink,
tell my lover go away,
give me time to think,
what I might disown,
like a butchers display,
is separate his bones,
hear pocket change clink,
am betting you to say,
my mind is just a sink,
a letter from home,
begs me hard to pray,
am done with being down,
I teeter on the brink,
though early summer days,
go fimd me an ice rink,
am not here for kicks,
bright surface of a rege,
almost makes me flip,
seek the holy trail.

Your star is coming home,
wails of a police light,
in gardens, you lie prone,
whisper your love,
on throwaway nights,
your ravaged face a moon,
saints expose their bones,
a song gets you high,
makes you drink alone,
railings bright with doves,
a learned moan to cry,
you pray to those above,
fresh linen eau de cologne,
always makes them sigh,
for those already gone,
you see every move,
millions live and die,
some of them no good,
luminous as a frozen stone,
that star in the sky,
let the ghosts pass on,
ever wondered why ?

What you call consistent,
remains out of reach,
swallows all resistance,
searching for the sea,
tida rises to the beach,
washes blue rinsed sheets,
when you reel listless,
try your book of sugarbees,
in all the things you miss,
your stash of easy pieces,
jangles around beseeches,
drifts away on the breeze,
then you stand shapeless,
each time someone leaves,
on gentle winds of promise, ,
you say take ite easy,
forgetting any reason,
its me who wants to sing,
back to dancing free.

I'm not your drip,
lost on a big sea,
the yellow light hid,
what about your lover,
with all her surly needs,
does she have your number,
tells you how to live,
alongside your greed,
never one to not insist,
in an age of wonder,
yet so little belierf,
is it you who flounders,
painted stones and drift,
lie supine at your feet,
now you've been tripped,
a slave so encumbered,
to someone else's plea,
instead my sweet slumber,
you can rot in sin,
live life gone to seed,
but I won't give in.
spirits set me free.

What might have been,
never seems to square,
for a life serene,
don't spell me the blues,
you’re not that aware,
hide behind the truth,
sweat as a horse's steam,
makes your nostrils flare,
eyes turn a silent wheel,
try not to be uncouth,
is your voice so slurred,
you need more proof,
drink alone each evening,
would you even care,
if I say I'm through,
look at me you fool,
is this not fair,
grasp what you need to do,
can you hear the sea,
will you take me there,
its where i want to be,
don't get scared.

I face terrible shame,
no star could refuse,
curate outrageous fame,
you might wonder why,
they speak of godly virtue,
those who up hold right,
this is no mug's game,
the TV blares its news,
they'll bow for anything,
I see all their spies,
fashioning golden scoops,
beneath a crass disguise,
sunshine shows my way,
what is there to lose
hope is ours to create,
it's why fools don't try,
am i just so stupid,
tired of airy butterflies,
am going to shed the blame,
put it down to doom,
take a drink the same,
lay out all my truth.

Being here's no paradise,
it only takes two,
to see what's not right,
we could be great stars,
make the sea turn blue,
stardust as we part,
all need is better light,
show what we can do,
magnify us to see why,
our songs still resonate,
hung on lines of truth,
served up fresh to taste,
this bistro is our life,
it dances to our tune,
even as a transport pike,
doesn’t matter how late,
we wail our kitchen tunes,
just give us a break,
pray for easy nights,
to latch on what is new,
catch our chickens fly,
well beyond the coop.
