Riley
I have no need of you,
stepping off this train,
despite such terrible news,
hate to appear like stone,
seeing everyone anyway,
it happens when love goes,
haven't got a clue,
how we will find today,
sad so uneven a funeral,
who arranged the loans,
prepared how she lay,
bet you were not alone,
now you face the ruins,
a voice flares or fades,
but's no longer my issue,
once I used to moan,
trying to erase everything,
I once called home,
you can wail the blues,
say everything's escaped,
truth is a bitter fruit,
I cry just the same.

It's hard to identify,
that misty time,
when dreams grew so high,
what part of me emptied,
and other parts denied,
the rise of a flood tide,
who needs an inquiry,
when love fails our sight,
or is then simply buried,
witness blurred lamp lines,
boardwalk planks so tight,
between moon and th sky,
wash down blue Daiquiri's,
laugh at our uneven flight,
it makes for a trilogy,
every walk of life,
contains buckets of cries,
each to their own trial,
you're my security light,
pooled outside the wire,
hold me in twilight,
don't ask why ?

Before my fame,
I only thought of you,
and how we slaved,
shadows rise in blue smoke,
contain an awful truth,
how come we're broke,
you always hated waste,
played many successful tunes,
maybe it was that other age,
longing for a happy home,
stare at club split rooms,
feel stripped to the bone,
inside classy cafe's,
we could have bloomed,
danced them night and day,
I'd control simple notes,
you could saxajoe smooth,
comfort those all alone,
how to begin again,
such lonely terrible news,
what fuelled our dreams,
was it those you blew ?

I flush away the years,
every age has its crust,
in laughs or shiny tears,
no life is too short,
for ones that you trust,
it's our toil of water,
to run like the deer,
carry a hint of musk,
drink in bars truth near,
know what's been taught,
don't lie in the dust,
when you feel overawed,
what brought me here,
on this tidal flood,
once felt so sincere,
no one except the Court,
hides the fact am bust,
despite costs they sought,
blow flame across my fear,
bring me all the luck,
hope before I disappear,
to risk again in love.

Ask me why I pray,
given kids like these,
makes you go insane,
run a bath with foam,
not wanting to believe,
all my loving's done,
see your lousy face,
slinking off to sea,
hope the engines fail,
in the wind and stones,
what is left of me,
assist my journey home,
harness in the rain,
all their surly needs,
have their own someday,
each of my lonely bones,
suddenly breaks free,
am out of that zone,
remember sweet ways,
when they were tiny,
lord how we praised,
a time to believe.

Maisie
You scream of bad news,
in turbulent nights,
don't you know we're thru,
the world's mmazed stones,
left hanging out to dry,
all loving fire now gone,
flame bursts up the flue,
don't tell me how to cry,
to use more coal thsn you,
it’s not me you mocked,
swimming against the tide,
every touch gets lost,
no matter what you do,
however hard you try,
no one reamains immune,
who cares who is phoned,
something deep inside,
goes beyond this soil,
fly at frightened blues,
clouds furl the sky,
death is no easy due,
even when you die.
