Norma

Who bothers to see me cry, under moonshine's bitter sprawl, uneaten fruit by my side, others need their ease, happy people don't bawl, the beach around me reels. silver clouds form lines, want to see me hauled, i didn't do the crime, her brown and lovely feet, left me without a call, a ship on lonely seas, i sip a gallon nine, in darkness see another shore, an old trail in my mind, this sunny life of mine, orange trees and new dawn, i look around my island, nothing's really gone.
