Peter
For each little bit of you,
if anyone enquires,
we won’t give a clue,
life isn't a trombone,
don’t sound like a choir,
why should they 'phone,
your small cup of ruin,
brighter than fire,
will get you in tune,
you know you know,
this poisoned desire,
but we leave you alone,
whoever needs the truth,
asks who's for hire,
we’ll tell them what’s new,
if someone moans,
when you perspire,
we'll have their bones,
down on the avenue,
sing on the wire,
always pay your dues,
you're a straight flyer.

Can’t you ask why,
accept what you’ve chosen,
before you deny,
stare at dead cases,
you’re mouth frozen,
with stupid phrases,
sing your favourite lines,
our time done with roses,
accept all you decry,
beyond children’s faces,
neither shrunken nor spoken,
their wonderful stations,
at the graveside,
witness love's bonus,
clouds sail the sky,
what settles the debate,
won’t care nor follow us,
you blew the traces,
a flower at your side,
just some little token,
more than a wish to verify,
what lies broken.
Bella Three
Why live in a haze,
it's not this one time,
battered like cellophane,
best not to moan,
or warm holy wine,
life is only a loan,
why jump the trains,
scour the line,
for the perfect way,
in your worn-out clothes,
enjoy what’s fine,
even on your bones,
make a step change,
scrape off the grime,
find love instead of trade,
when someone groans,
you don't understand why,
move out of that zone,
betrayed by your days,
let your heart unwind,
in greater ways,
you can ever design.

Look at the moon,
a spring tide today,
everything comes around too soon,
the birds who have flown,
seeking away,
sing as they go,
my eyes are like pools,
wouldn't it be great,
to find somewhere new,
in a hurricane zone,
where no one reigns,
to oversee the loans,
someone not cruel,
but poised sedate,
who forgets about dues,
and where the wind blows,
all emotion flayed,
an emptiness gone,
my good parts are cool,
clear as acetate,
will you come there too,
high across the flames?
Bella
II need another home,
help me to say,
what you know is gone,
what I need to do,
unravel the waste,
pick out the new,
in troubled zones,
there is solace every day,
II am never alone,
the sea is lemon blue,
cafe's swell with rain,
always there is you,
here in my bones,
love finds a way,
without being shown,
what's sought by the few,
with no thought for gain,
echoes this truth,
brilliant stones,
glisten with names,
waters groan,
please help me again.

This is not me,
jelly for thoughts,
each day of uncertainty,
a useless fall from grace,
cast adrift forlorn,
I don’t want to hate,
make a fool of reason,
laugh when I'm caught,
spitting at eternity,
you’ll read this and shake,
absent from my call,
I’ll scream and create,
waiting for the seasons,
wondering if I'm born,
howling for the next scene,
you’ll raise the stakes,
fear of being torn,
I have to act brave,
who dreams of empathy,
sitting on a wall,
boom of a broken sea,
snot wanting to fall.

The love you show,
dissolves gives way,
makes a fool of every bone,
is it in your creed,
to circle the days,
can't you see,
in garments sewn,
like a drunken oblate,
it’s all you know,
incense, flowers, crazes,
to dance on hot stones,
you want to be free,
is this what you've sown,
only the shame,
head bowed as you go,
a house by the sea,
bring whisky for your pain,
try to be happy,
brilliant origins,
whisper your name,
Spring's in full flow,
find your own space

Caitlyn
Whoever owns the night,
a wind hushed fog looms,
makes you wonder why,
he keeps a cheerful home,
somewhere in the dunes,
always on the go,
forget the bitter times,
all the cool untruths,
bars, rain, gloom, homicide,
living dreams without a phone,
always glad to see you,
this place that life postponed,
the air splashing by,
searching for a final coup,
some waste all their lives,
others touch the stones,
kid themselves to look,
what they had before,
he whistles at freedom passing by,
laughs and hums a tune,
says it's stupid to lie,
whatever else you do.
Ellie Three
It just goes to show,
when I hear your blues,
in some lane dead slow,
a witness to your sighs,
your ugly feuds,
the weary lies,
Chateau Lafitte think of loans,
energy to unglue,
my frozen bones,
instead of the jibes,
and all the doodle doo,
don’t make me cry,
is this all you know,
how to haunt a venue,
keeping up a teary tone,
try to be wise,
it's nothing new,
I've marked those nights,
better face the blow,
something I always knew,
heaven's in my soul,
there’s no space for you.

Ellie Two
if you knew how to give,
you wouldn't need,
to seek a place to live,
this is no child’s game,
around your greed,
chasing your days,
what about the kids,
with all their surly needs,
are they gone adrift,
golden lies can't negate,
you spin on the breeze,
why blow them away,
all your woven fibs,
you think just a wheeze,
banging the lid,
only fools hesitate,
to bring you gifts.
what you dedicate,
to live life in drips,
no loving need,
the yellow light bid,
do you believe?

You who always fight,
priest's robes of purple hue,
should see my cotton stripes,
within a sea of sharks,
your smile arrives on cue,
beams while I sink,
give me some crass disguise,
a lover of balloons,
try to make me wise,
I walk like a tank,
to the visitor's cube,,
my hair not yet lank,
it blows around your eyes,
behind TV's fake news,
it's a bridge of sighs,
you're no dismal crank,
your spirit lifts the room,
I call you Hank,
you’ll pay these fines,
there's nothing to refuse,
I’ll give my best smile,
make you laugh like new.

Mathew Two
Bring a sweet sign,
in darkness and grain blue,
your eyes in constant flight,
come near to me I moan,
in this place of virtue,
no one dies alone,
we sail among the isles,
how to light the fuse,
make prayer of our lives,
steer an even course,
lulled by sweet perfume,
temptations all we know,
you are my light,
more than any muse.
only we decide,
when we’re growing old,
who will give the news,
to lives gone cold,
bells ring out the night,
our journey fires the truth,
my tears ask me why,
I should lie to you?
Mathew
You’re Lucky to pass this way,
each evening conjugate,
why no one here is brave,
don't worry if I’m queer,
I am not a knave,
measure life, not fears,
to broken laws you pray,
define yourself by hate,
be gentle with your say,
I can still drink beer,
even if I’m late,
a drunken innocent muscateer,
bells ring out for play,
rather than enslave,
I’m the one to delegate,
other stuff brings tears,
why scream or hesitate,
let other souls come near,
my yellow hair turns grey,
the sum of constant forays,
lovers, please celebrate,
you like me are great.

Faisa Four
You dance in the tide,
your fame is just beginning,
say you need a bride,
my mother says stay true,
she is not forgiving,
for love running smooth,
tobacco blonde full of lies,
fresh alive and kicking,
you sing on many a night,
it brings me back to you,
the cafe's do your bidding,
you have no curfew,
who knows if she's right,
when you can demand anything,
sunlight, water, sky,
love blows down the avenue,
lupine heads are dipping,
don't melt me lemon blue,
your lips twist like knives,
our trips to secret venues,
you nail me with that smile,
what else is new?
Sunday, 15 December 2019
Faisa Three
I'll dance with you,
if I'm not too late,
stick to me like glue,
don't make me groan,
like a special case,
in yellow clothes and Cologne,
I'll borrow you the moon,
why not church or state,
if you'll beat these blues,
we are never alone,
pearl doves at the gate,
a promenade to your throne,
tell me the truth,
if your vision's great,
does it sleep in ruins,
maybe a lazy home,
lets me stake my case,
dusty as a heavy tome,
you make me swoon,
take me as your date,
to hell with the rumours,
love doesn’t age.
Faisa Two
Cold white hate,
stokes your bones,
you who are always late,
I give money to schools,
you've got no phone,
but smile like a fool,
why try to engage,
when you're that gone,
all that baggage,
who needs more proof,
when you sit and moan,
i'll show you,
there are no bedmates,
blown on weather zones,
who'll rescue your case,
they say you zoom,
let everything blow,
when you lock the room,
I’ll cheat that fate,
wear sturdy clothes,
find gold in the grate,
shine a shiny stone.
Friday, 13 December 2019
Faisa
Bring me sparkling jewels,
let me laugh through tears,
no need to be cruel,
my voice brings you grace,
what else can you fear,
there is no bad faith,
turn your head you fool,
you need this siren near,
don't feel bemused,
my singing tells your fate,
perfume costs you dear,
listen before too late,
dreams and other rules,
you ache for visions clear,
golden domes pursued,
along the shipping lanes,
a whole life in fear,
to carry so much freight,
dance at torrid news,
find a passage clear,
pull away your issues,
set sail for better years.

Look at me I seethe,
is it my grey hair,
do I need new teeth,
am I always too late,
as if you'd care,
use me like a fallen gate,
what might have been,
it's not fair,
who needs a life of ease,
nights I sway,
without a slur,
I can take the strain,
don't sing of the sea,
you're not that aware,
these fine evenings,
like a fish to the bait,
your eyes blur,
say I'm great,
but can you love me,
do you dare,
I'm shaping to leave,
are you scared?
Wednesday, 11 December 2019
Eline Three
Bum notes make me faint,
where else can you go,
this session group look grave,
forget what's not fair,
in the life of soul,
I’m not square,
give the eye and hesitate,
don't make them groan,
show them the milky way,
it's not my long hair,
plaided like a tow rope,
that makes them scared,
I go against the grain,
out here alone,
find it hard to delegate,
my songs make them care,
think it’s you they own,
those inside the circle,
singing keeps me resonate,
the world's not made of stone,
hands across my face,
all you need to know.
Tuesday, 10 December 2019
Eline Two
Don't break holy orders,
claim it’s all your mother,
stuff you swore,
love's free to cash,
all the stuff you smother,
a window without a sash,
you can see my core,
belly like an oven,
a flame of burning more's,
whenever money's crap,
you curse your brother,
he says it’s not on tap,
hard stuff behind his door,
fools live without clutter,
then run away fraught,
no book or deeds stashed,
you won’t lie like the others,
ignore their dash,
you'll pay a heavy score,
you’ve always been another,
love for you is raw,
better take cover.
Monday, 9 December 2019
Eline
Lit up at some ocean bar,
well within the hurricane zones,
searching for forgotten laws,
only fools pay their dues,
let you drink alone,
leave you here to stew,
you can only go so far,
before the lining folds,
start to skimp on cards,
even without a feud,
on throwaway 'phones,
your ravaged face turns Blue,
your hair is like tar,
Saints reveal their bones,
where is your Da,
the trail is well used,
far away from home,
life circles around you,
yours is not a lucky star,
that hits the right note,
hotel toilets for a Spa,
tales of love a joke.

I throw away the years,
every age has its crust,
the laughs and happy tears,
no life is too short,
for those in whom you trust,
in our toil of waters,
you run like the deer,
with a smell of musk,
in hazy bars you step clear,
I knew you’d be caught,
spinning pennies in the dust,
but never overawed,
what brought you here,
on this tidal flood,
a woman so sincere,
no book or district Court,
hides the fact you’re bust,
or what I sought,
blow flame across my fears,
bring me all the luck,
hope before you disappear,
geese ride on the dusk.

Johnny Three
You won't let me hail,
anyone else to dance,
in rooms of darkest pale,
always play the fool,
waiting for kindness to pass,
no path to you is smooth,
nothing more to say,
so little of pure chance,
when you drive away,
I rage against your feuds,
lilac as a lonely fast,
why do they get to you,
life is like a freighter,
and your face is tanned,
gliding down the freeway,
I’ll tell you what to do,
pull over make a stance,
you're no fool,
whirl me 'round again,
test me for balance,
say what you want to say,
give me another chance
Johnny Two
Stands by my unlit lamp,
a tree, a bridge, shaking,
he waits like a tramp,
listens to some muted song,
who would ever negate,
a need to belong,
better take a chance,
if he plays this game,
can always go to France,
hopes he’s not wrong,
looking at the rain,
stream against a naked bar,
ask how much this path,
shuffles his remains,
no more wounds to lance,
someone will come along,
say Heh Pal this way,
put something in his pocket,
cigarettes and laughs,
beer sipped like champagne,
here he lets life dance,
praises each sweet day.

Johnny
Wouldn't it be great,
to forget how much we owe,
celebrate what remains,
kick the need to wrong,
when rivers skin our bones,
within us all our song,
I watch for the rain,
tumble down a naked slope,
save us from the drains,
we'll just bumble along,
fly with what we know,
assent that we're strong,
fling the watch away,
shiny as the fallen snow,
trains arrive anyway,
I’ll never let you down,
or worry about the loan,
you have no need to frown,
red lips ornate,
rooms where flowers grow,
pints and whisky chasers,
I never feel alone.
Marta Three
Living here's no paradise,
never makes the news,
why try to be nice,
could as well be space,
stars and sea like glue,
put some food on our plate,
we want a better life,
know what we can do,
away from all the spite,
our song still resonates,
a feeling far from Blue,
wait till you see my weight,
this village is our life,
always something here for you,
under naked sodium lights,
this is what we create,
to sing within our brew,
we don't jump the gate,
home is our easy night,
when we look for truth,
it is where we die,
searching for our youth.
Friday, 29 November 2019
Marta Two
Mornings I ask myself why,
can we ever atone,
stars pale as children’s eyes,
might as well be Mars,
for all they know,
we're still that far,
they eat within my sight,
the wind is black and cold,
you’re here another time,
if it's them and dogs you want,
don't get stoned,
remain calm,
when you hear me cry,
running from a broken phone,
just don’t sigh,
say there’s another scar,
to keep you at home,
a battle is not a war,
no matter how we fight,
or strain our yellow bones,
hold me tight tonight.
Wednesday, 27 November 2019
Marta
You drape all my deeds,
like seaweed on the bar,
say salt brings serenity,
blow out all my pay,
then fly afar,
what a terrible waste,
clinging to the sea,
something in a bottle,
thoughts won’t set you free,
in a different age,
you’d have no fancy car,
now you hesitate,
you don’t fill my needs,
a warm hazy fog,
that rolls from childhood dreams,
dancing on the waves,
is all the stuff you're not,
instead we view the wreckage,
love's no good for me,
too many scars,
holy water is my drink, ,
what's going on?

I have no need of you,
stepping off this train,
that much is certain,
hate to be like stone,
see anyone anyway,
on the street or Metro,
I haven't got a clue,
how it will go today,
seeing what you’re due,
you arranged the loans,
introduced him to that crew,
told him to be strong,
now what’s new,
my voice flares and fades,
this is your issue,
when I used to moan,
you tried erase,
everything I called a home,
they all wail the blues,
where he’s laid today,
truth is a bitter fruit,
I cry just the same.

Can you identify,
that back door,
between moon and sky,
what has been emptied,
and other parts thrown,
by this Neap tide,
don't need an inquiry,
when truth is bought,
then buried,
witness the crime,
when you’re brought,
to where rich men dine,
some drink daiquiri,
laugh as they're taught,
it makes them happy,
every walk of life,
ends in a nought,
you should see their wives,
by security lights,
pooled on the floor
in the winter twilight,
you meet the poor.

Sal Two
Before my fame,
I only thought of you,
and what you craved,
shadows pass in blue smoke,
against an awful truth,
shocked again I'm broke,
you always did waste,
my successful tunes,
in this different age,
at the clubs alone,
long lonely rooms,
stripped to the bone,
inside the best cafe's,
I would have bloomed,
by night and by day,
holding a simple note,
lonely men soothed,
like bathing atones,
to begin again,
is hardly new,
this Subway,
stinks of feuds.
Saturday, 23 November 2019
Sal
You wonder why I pray,
with kids like these,
they'd make you snort cocaine,
run a bath with foam,
not living in your creed,
but loving isn't done,
I hold your face,
forget to say please,
catch horizons in the rain,
in the wind and stones,
help us with our needs,
assist the journey home,
fire me through dreary days,
make my troubles ease,
withstand the fray,
each of my lonesome tones,
becomes suddenly free,
now we're alone,
remember those days,
our trips to the sea,
the scrimp for praise,
our dance at Thebes?

You scream the news,
in troubled nights,
as if you knew,
all the different ones,
left hanging on the line,
you loved and gone,
fire burns up the flue,
don't tell me how to cry,
when you look so callow,
it’s not me you blocked,
swimming against the tide,
everything you held and lost,
no matter who you use,
however you may try,
you are not immune,
who cares what is crocked,
something deep inside,
shines beside my shock,
who will sing your blues,
pillows furl the sky,
death is no easy due,
even when you die.

If I’m set to freeze,
my soul strung out tight,
someone needs to set me free,
in your eyes amour,
have to do what's right,
you know the score,
rock me gently,
say everything ‘s fine,
don't worry baby,
the hearts of lost hordes,
all entwined,
roll around on my floor,
glamorous, perfect, serene,
you kiss me quietly,
do what others have dreamed,
a perfect fighter,
have I just died,
and loll on water,
a star across the sea,
I swear to the night,
let me reach the quays,
I’ll be alright.

Don't say I’m late,
that love doesn't exist,
put on your skates,
the earth hesitates,
like it has a stitch,
I’m not afraid,
someone says give me change,
who is paying this,
it'd be a cheek to say,
spin on your plate,
he wants to see my tits,
creepy by the door frame,
working in this place,
is like a launderette,
spinning out my fate,
a little smile migrates,
with all the other misfits,
who’ve never seen a wage,
such times of little grace,
when you figure it,
makes me wear a face,
if something’s missing,

You keep trouble at bay,
that life requires,
any problems just look away,
they pester you for loans,
your eyes seek the tide,
you're not alone,
stumble in the haze,
dampen all desire,
no one’s so easy or brave,
scared to your bones,
they won’t call you a liar,
or chase you with guns,
ride the blue waves,
like a cold fish knife,
love is the only gain,
why don't you 'phone,
among candlelit signs,
not easy on your own,
is this what you crave,
a burning pyre,
pine needles and hay,
a soul on fire?

It's quiet here now,
after fifty years of greed,
smooth as stone,
can still see the cave,
where praise be,
I hope to be saved,
my body under snow,
back in the country,
when it starts to blow,
give me this place,
where there is serenity,
even on feast days,
geese with barren tones,
set the air to freeze,
right on my shoulder,
they honk on their way,
late for the season,
I'm just the same,
in the blue dawn,
stripped like the trees,
in my hands a rose,
the old loving need.

I still hear me Da,
laughing like a foghorn,
it seems so far,
happy he's not scarred,
or left forlorn.
I start the car,
when he stamps the tar,
like a newborn,
he’s a fallen star,
I switch off,
looking war-torn,
right from the start,
he won’t join the ark,
he’s not even sure,
where’s his great heart,
can’t find that chart,
my son knows the score',
it’s gone too far,
a trip to the park,
old shirts he’s worn,
things fall apart,
love has no form

Bellow at some cause betrayed,
conceal the bitter holy things,
take them to your grave,
can you afford the Blues,
where everyone's your cling,
notes come just on cue,
what a song they make,
a curdled love of dying,
everyone knows your fate,
smoke cigarettes in the dunes,
when called upon to bring,
life to such a hula-hoop,
watch ships in the bay,
you really want to fling,
salt to heartaches far away,
but a child brand new,
laughs at everything,
even if it isn't true,
don’t gamble all and say,
love to me is nothing,
can’t cheat the turning page,
find a place to sing.
Raymond Three
I’ll let you know,
what people feel,
almost in their bones,
the jilted smile's stain,
hung in every valley,
they see it every way,
take your time right now,
those nights without mercy,
the river always flows,
why seek the pouring rain,
to peer in mountain streams,
get by day to day,
nothing to bestow,
from other crazy schemes,
life's no picture show,
you’re a long time away,
to live within a team,
face the dread uncertainty,
what you did was wrong,
we see how you've been,
stay to warm your toes,
there is another dream.

Forget all these clowns,
that come to woo her,
many without elan,
as loud as her woes,
ships blow their hooters,
every song sings of home,
not just her gown,
that makes them swoon,
who can fault her tan,
she glides without throne,
in bars full of huwers,
she'd rather be alone,
nothing’s quite by chance,
her eyes are ruined,
but everything comes to pass,
barefoot she raises a laugh,
what can they do to her,
with hard countenance,
strange in these ocean towns,
these faded boozers,
no sight of her crown,
only the sewer.

You'll pay a heavy score,
my face is savage blue,
love is swollen raw,
no sense of ease,
always in your Queue,
you never do say please,
I’m not divined by whores,
sitting here in the gloom,
a footfall for your cause,
it’s bad on this street,
no one hears good news,
only someone scream,
I hack at lonely chores,
turn my life askew,
sweat in furious pause,
why shout and swear at me,
spitting out your spume,
only fools don’t heed,
Christ, you rage and score,
you never were my glue,
praying at some lonely door,
I’m already over you.

Is water in your blood,
in this house of whispers,
who says it does no good,
places you want to claim,
don't need a chorus,
gentle hearts along the freeway,
smothered by time go bust,
leave someone here a bonus,
be prepared for this,
find another brain,
simply do what time insists,
knowledge is always pain,
maybe you need a tug,
sail away without a ship,
when rain feels like dust,
search for love again,
walk the middle distance,
never bow to shame.
an Ocean never floods,
why make a fuss,
there's life in this'hood,
plenty for all of us.

Is this how we imitate,
our inventive best,
when we twist and shake,
open every door,
to mend our fences,
wake up sore,
fuelled with what we take,
like all the rest,
we won’t hesitate,
fools sing for applause,
faith brings us to the test,
does two and two make four,
the night's cool probate,
scatters our innocence,
no matter what cost relates,
the drunken poor,
ask for our presence,
leave us the floor,
the search for gain,
is the cask they blend,
don’t send them away,
they're our new friends.

Is this really the place,
to ask the reason why,
my love's ashamed,
the haze of loss and show,
he beats out his time,
nowhere else to go,
soaked on an island main,
desolate in his cry,
he always tries to calculate,
what I need to know,
no longer beats the sky,
wooden box or one-way blow,
when he jumps rail,
boxcar irons safe to climb,
eschews the spikes of jail,
his lips won’t go,
near this sweetheart’s tie,
witness the gentle furrow,
no easy way to fake,
what hurts him deep inside,
takes it to his grave,
eyes open wide.

Do you think when beat,
perhaps with a common air,
you can rescue everything,
if love’s the same,
heaven’s a place to share,
with my good name,
when in depths of need,
have a go at taking care,
it's not easy being free,
getting there’s the game,
never short of pleasure,
when it's up the lane,
I know how to keep,
a wooden face on stairs,
bars are my sole conceit,
anyone I can tame,
mould on hard chairs,
maybe use the chains,
will anyone see,
the gaps between my hair,
eyes lit up like kerosene,
my breath gone somewhere?

Don't say get a grip,
when I fail down below,
let another moment slip,
I don't need drugs to pray,
sooth my bones,
my quest to get away,
stowaways have surly lips,
manacles of wretched homes,
others take a coin and flip,
tired jokes and spirits flay,
on 49 different time zones,
lies in everything they say,
they make your eyes dip,
will consumptive hollows,
take another nip,
won’t know how I sleep,
if I can act grown,
when faith takes a leap,
wonder if I make this trip,
will the wind moan,
nail me in a coffin ship,
c'mon baby let’s go.

Your kisses leave me,
shivering on the train,
tongues beset by family,
your wailed news,
runs dead across my face,
more jelly for the blues,
who knows what to believe,
but a growing grain,
of blessed relief,
who bears the crew,
to these dockside gates,
they always face the truth,
a swollen handkerchief,
a stillborn fate,
a star across the sea,
you wouldn't believe how cruel,
life can be,
before sunrise looms,
but your tears can't reach,
me on my way,
don't spoil my dreams,
this November day.

Sean
You like sugared tea,
tears are lachrymose,
jokes, not your repartee,
once might have been so,
you suppose,
never one to atone,
the wind starts to ease,
ride out the blow,
replace it with certainty,
the moon meets your tone,
you'd never close,
doors on their going,
who needs the sea,
why bother to roam,
when you can believe,
kids are still at home,
their mother's fine,
you fix a drink alone,
when they all leave,
you’ll change your clothes,
huff to the lavatory,
weigh twenty stone

It's been a while,
so there you go,
wait like a child,
when donkeys start to bray,
or the cock crows,
you'll have your say,
no need to find,
what you rarely own,
on boardwalk miles,
a star shows the way,
frozen in your clothes,
this is no play,
kid you don't mind,
just another show,
never mind the time,
stay here a while,
wrapped up in the snow,
you have some style,
sit by a fire,
don’t worry or scold,
try to stay kind,
a smile in your bones
Sunday, 3 November 2019
Raith Two
Will you stay the same,
beneath the trees,
each time we separate,
remember the times,
we drank in the heat,
sat drinking wine,
now a morning shame,
it's not just our feet,
in this tired game,
believe me, I'm fine,
I dream of the sea,
to me it's no crime,
what does it take,
with my dawn novena,
to see you again,
smile like a hurricane,
fix you something to eat,
watch you hesitate,
why can’t you remain,
the sun sinks uneven,
cars fill up their lanes,
wait until evening?
Raith
The diagnosis half true,
you smell the Limes,
on a tree-lined avenue,
act like you know,
the tests that bind,
blowhard on your bones,
hope holds you aloof,
to knows if they’re right,
except there's no clue,
you won't be alone,
in this cosy light,
to break out the stones,
you sit near the flue,
it's not like a crime,
for a fire to warm you,
you have to keep going,
each lonely night,
when the kid's phone in,
say you’ll be fine,
drink leads to ruin,
just a strange time,
to ask if you're through?

You say it’s time to leave,
don't really want to know,
if you want to see,
you just want away,
to live or die alone,
dig your own grave,
our love is bittersweet,
no human need for home,
children, big dreams,
shifting silence of your sea,
you dance on moonlit bones,
I want to stay pretty,
sing along and pray,
the only song I own,
before you jump the gate,
can you hear me keen,
locked to an iron stove,
like the cave of Euripides,
please don't push me,
I only weigh eight stone,
who are you to grieve,
when you bob and moan?
Thursday, 31 October 2019
Maya Two
Fear hollows out my night,
makes me swallow ancient flame,
wait for lamps to light,
when I'm most shot through,
you’ll hear me state,
change is but our due,
a dream of life outside,
moments to pray,
drink a little sweet wine,
there are no avenues,
I won’t walk again,
you will too,
laugh in a better clime,
no one else to blame,
for part of me dying,
don't need shine my shoe,
all pieces in play,
our tide will turn blue,
beyond a knife held tight,
will you apply a tourniquet,
don't look away in fright,
we'll go home again.
Maya
Don't let the doom crew,
make it seem,
you'll always sing the Blues,
cold weather brings them on,
don't know the disease,
they always find a home,
even if the wind rocks cruel,
don’t stop your dreams,
you'll always lose a few,
come here my lovely one,
laugh beside an arctic sea,
nothing beats what’s gone,
the dark days of feud,
are now just history,
you’ll always beat the curfew,
even when fields turn blond,
stay with me,
our love is a marathon,
dance the way you do,
not from screams,
no icebergs frighten you,
what you believe.

A broken tort on my knees,
you demand to see the child,
what lies in between,
when you think you know,
fury in your smile,
say it's just like you,
can’t I have some ease,
you ignore the signs,
believe perfect belief,
even if not true,
a power beyond my sight,
you always claim the virtue,
wrap it around your misery,
in whispered prayers at night,
throw them back at me,
the terms you accrue,
somehow heaven's insight,
lawyers stick with glue,
before you ask the judiciary,
to take the precious mite,
of love across the sea,
enquire about my rights?

Love holds the door ajar,
your hair falls down the line,
you don't get very far,
but sit around a Pool,
trees wave in blended time,
who needs their news,
to ask about your Da,
just another wine,
lonely as a shooting star,
the money he tooled,
in a poor jaded light,
punishing the fools,
home another car,
furnished by mother's cries,
a place of stolen parts,
including you, you fool,
forget the hurt inside,
he caught a piece of you,
that sits on the bar,
and sees the morning rise
hit the highway burning tar,
we won't see your eyes.

A winter of religious scenes,
she dabs at another frame,
stands without relief,
regards the thing she's honed,
out from that other game,
doubts she's ever alone,
in yellow nights of dreams,
even when she looks away,
it's not what it seems,
in many ways she's gone,
lost without a name,
the work is not her own,
but canvas lets her see,
painting's like a nail,
a matchstick in the sea,
the pull of other thrones,
never lets her reign,
her hand is a stone,
but work is her Me,
she wakes and eyes the day,
another strike at liberty,
there's no better way.

You cross to the lee,
things are never the same,
salt dawdles on the breeze,
danger comes to your eyes,
fame is in your gaze,
has it brought another spy,
perfume from last night’s heat,
rises on gentle waves,
surrounds you at your seat,
how you hold the line,
you won't be framed,
even if you tell a lie,
a church without society,
a jewel for your days,
silk on this silken sea,
beyond the burning fires,
someone chants your name,
the gods are wise,
being true is never easy,
especially with this campaign,
they will set you free,
chained to your odyssey.

Who can resist,
or diminish your flame,
sometimes by a wayward kiss,
hidden by brickfields and scree,
supplies of waste,
gather at your feet,
beware of those you hit,
please don’t turn and say,
am I being remiss,
the alley ticks with heat,
sunshine falls in little grapes,
your look is all-seeing,
let them go piss,
you say again,
rage will absolve us,
for everything we see,
we'll see again,
including our envy,
uncertain misfits,
shoved tossed away,
fools seeking justice,
beg for your name.
Thursday, 24 October 2019
James
That’s behind you now,
sit stunned around a Pool,
a breeze makes you scowl,
on golden sand you dream,
all that hides in blue,
scrubbed by the sea,
it's easy to be blown,
what you've been through,
why not turn brown,
trees swell with yellow leaves,
they carry the news,
just let everyone be,
what you can't undo,
or make your tongue refuse,
you won't denude,
do you wax and seal,
offer them cashews,
put them on the wheel,
concoct some fantastic town,
where everyone is good,
no one lets you down,
no one makes you lose.

My eyes try to fix a place,
where we just carry on,
and no one feels the pain,
or cares for the drones,
that rise like Babylon,
beyond the time zones,
when he sees my face,
the running lines of alcohol,
it’s all suddenly plain,
a time to stay alone,
a wolf howl at the moon,
not like being home,
maybe I'll take a train,
find last winter's love,
ride around the Bay,
who knows how it’ll go,
a trapeze of broken runs,
heavy as a stone,
how do you kindle flame,
bleach your hair use a comb,
can we ever really say,
what we're made of?
Tuesday, 22 October 2019
Berna Two
Out by the long lights,
side by side in harmony,
we are cool as anthracite,
why take a train,
or sail on the lee,
when you jump a plane,
so far we're all right,
who needs reason,
act like young socialites,
it's fun being away,
we won't ever concretely,
inquire about pain,
a long silent night,
doesn’t stand scrutiny,
that morning can’t buy,
our horizon’s frayed,
the sun is all-seeing,
it beats out the stain,
we want to be free,
we say from on high,
below us the sea,
don’t ask me why?
Monday, 21 October 2019
Berna
I dream of his class,
silken not torn,
listening to him gasp,
struggling without scorn,
broken unsought,
I feel reborn,
landing in the traps,
dancing on thorns,
he’s a modern-day iconoclast,
what have I caught,
riding this storm,
a penny for your thoughts,
can you say it overlaps,
now that he's gone,
hidden under Burlap,
I fed him corn,
he broke the fast,
now I’m alone,
on the next mountain pass,
I'll have him clawed,
love cannot crash,
short of his shorts.

What it means to fly,
within a screaming gale,
no use trying to lie,
in my bones,
I don't need a trial,
to find myself alone,
studying a time,
when all measures fail,
and you search for style,
can we atone,
or do we always fail,
when shame drags us home,
flip a coin to the sky,
talk of finding sail,
I always leave this way,
drink wine from broken cones,
search for desolate mail,
throw stones at ghosts,
they say it's worse than jail,
forsaken all the while,
when you hit the trail,
brightened by a smile.
Robert Three
A worn-out empty feeling,
hot kitchens bad aches,
something leaking,
she brings me the news,
with a doctor’s face,
when you know the truth,
but also the sea,
an artist bright unfazed,
for this old has been,
looking for something new,
a need to get away,
she plays me Delta Blues,
blows it on the street,
all she works and saves,
nothing left to seek,
I'm still left in perdue,
falling like the rain,
down broken avenues,
it sends me reeling,
by St Luke’s place,
kills me with her being,
these sunny days.

Robert Two
Tell me, tell me why,
they treat me so unfair,
my lips dissolve their cries,
who says to run clear,
call for stolen hurt,
demand a veil of tears,
I command a beautiful sight,
candles scent the air,
bells ring out the night,
my life contains all grief,
in yellow-robed nightshirts,
fresh from sleep,
I walk like a man gone by,
through the city desolate,
while they search my eyes,
will they ring my feet,
slash or burn my furs,
ask them to entreat,
these days without care,
they love orators here,
in darkness and green light,
I'm ready to go first.

Robert
He seeks explosive release,
in what he cannot find,
nothing seems to please,
he won't hear good news,
love is just a grind,
a cover-up for truth,
with the kiss of blasphemy,
he doesn't do sublime,
or give anyone a treat,
why disguise the Blues,
or nourish his sweet mind,
no one’s there for you,
he shakes his keys,
when December chimes,
work’s no Odyssey,
chained to a loving need,
for his family’s crimes,
he'd rather bleed,
forget any sense of ease,
of justice place or time,
the path to any freedom,
another clock to wind.

Nothing left to negotiate,
fortify your shoes,
seek holy escape,
they're only clones,
that bring you news,
to say you're not alone,
reason it’s too late,
to heal your broken look,
any brigand seeks escape,
you're not a rolling stone,
all of life is fruit,
don’t worry about the rope,
if you disturb the waves,
why should it bother you,
you'll always have your say,
separate the stones,
seek a distant bayou,
you’re not coming home,
when Oceans are in play,
survive while lovers mew,
step closer to the flame,
nothing left to rue
Tuesday, 15 October 2019
Fion Two
Sweet talk makes you curl,
you say enough, Basta,
never just your little girl,
silken wraps you've thrown,
that always collapse,
face moulded like a stone,
plates occasionally hurled,
nothing holds you fast,
makes you torn or care,
life is what you own,
if you think that crass,
consider it gone,
you're not perturbed,
time has passed,
keep that flag furled,
dance on brown chairs,
make a homeward dash,
your face to the air,
daddy you can keep or burn,
your love on the gas,
but turn the flame down,
make it last.
Monday, 14 October 2019
Fion
Please don't act all fine,
playing your games,
somewhere you’ll do time,
you’ll sing the blues,
on some lousy bedframe,
it's always you,
that never turns out right,
far away from pain,
sleeping bad, drinking wine,
what a cretin’s tune,
I’m coming home you say,
call that good news,
naked to your crimes,
no light across the plain,
you’ve lost your own design,
howling out your truth,
on some dismal train,
words bear bitter fruit,
when you talk coastlines,
dancing in the rain,
remember all your lies,
baby think again.

You know what it means,
to live alone,
thoughts harden into screams,
I'm cool but burn with flame,
even to atone,
makes me hesitate,
this isn't my scene,
the journey's almost done,
long past where I've been,
it’s useless to fake,
life as a drone,
things always come too late,
never safe to heed,
even where I’m wrong,
to ones who make me plead,
say goodbye to fame,
you drop me like a stone,
my turn now to rage,
I unwrap my dreams,
can still hear your moans,
who can resist this heat,
mend my broken bones?

Hera Three
From my white garden seat,
I carry a load,
It takes time to defeat,
secrets like lemons seed,
ravaged lipstick Eau De Cologne,
I only whisper feelings,
when lovers trick or treat,
my perfumes soaked,
whiskey I down neat,
living by a swollen creek,
my prayers take hold,
granny tucks her sleeves,
a gun next to the sheets,
she's no rolling stone,
what better cure than ease,
bathed in wine or yeast,
isolated but still at home,
there are still more beats,
to measure these beans,
no public telephones,
down fields of blue wheat,
we’re not alone.

I'm a fool at dawn,
to say something like that,
your eyes cross and turn,
I want to be at sea,
on a wooden raft,
there's still time to dream,
summon some ancient charm,
from our little chats,
sail to a perfect calm,
I want to speak clearly,
roar like a big cat,
say this is not some feeling,
to make you feel torn,
our life’s on the flat,
but still has some form,
ride rails, dance and weep,
adjust my Ray-Bans,
dance before tea,
gallop through the dawn,
don't ask me to wear a hat,
move like you’re never born,
isn't this a gas?
Thursday, 10 October 2019
Hera
Forget that you're better,
than those you kiss,
they can only stick together,
they come here for booze,
like little kids,
about to mew,
love is not undressed,
strain to see my tits,
plenty of time to rest,
no time for Monday’s Blues,
rolling off my hips,
what’s this thing called truth,
forget my easy duress,
kissing your fingertips,
play music at your request,
just look at you,
does your heartbeat skip,
don’t take me for a fool,
would you be lesser,
if I turned and stripped,
still steamed my kettle,
wiser in what you miss?

We can dream of empathy,
sitting on a wall,
listening to the sea,
I catch her eyes snake,
dancing on thorns,
she treats me like a fake,
each day of uncertainty,
a protest in my calls,
absence of how to feel,
who wants to stake,
a fear of being torn,
so I wait,
someone asks me,
a penny for your thoughts,
I say infidelity,
doubts fog my days,
I wonder if I'm born,
hers in so many ways,
we sit in the lee,
wondering what's been bought,
this isn’t me,
another whisky call.

What dreams have we kept,
they ask, the ghosts,
sat on bar stools bereft,
leave us alone thank you,
our skin might need soap,
we've heard the news,
are not bothered,
if they throw the rope,
just let us,
do what we say we'd do,
faces as strong as stones,
no need for your views,
lessons from the Pen,
carry tiny worms of hope,
deep within our breasts,
don't ask us to rue,
what we know,
cross streets or the Avenue,
you might mean well,
asking what we need to cope,
if can you help,
measuring up our bones?
Miriam Two
Your face like a cone,
somewhere far from ecstasy,
tells me all I know,
far away from time,
the daily conspiracy,
is life on the line,
your mouth a cruel loan,
when your body pulls free,
need to rest your bones,
on Sunday's drink wine,
and you and lovers seize,
love from this ugly clime,
every lie a fine toothcomb,
dance like a honey bee,
on the ocean stones,
your house besides the sea,
at the bottom of the road,
brings some other fantasy,
our bodies list and groan,
let us dare to be,
angels coming home,
watching on TV.

Miriam
What do you care,
that they stretch my face,
as if you’d understand,
the tune in blue trees,
the web-like lace,
spun on the breeze,
you’ll still need to share,
heaven's kissing gate,
you put me in there,
chained to the sea,
the same as your gaze,
a hymn to serendipity,
it’s hard to know what's fair,
your voice raised,
lips that snare,
down harried streets,
no one waits,
sugar sweet,
you're not a dare,
to sing so great,
are you aware,
how we pass the days?

We live or die in here,
the first one offers wine,
others circle near,
bereft of drama or lonely stars,
our debts reach high,
the journey’s never are,
moon bright trees blink sere,
lit with an inner light,
no one hides their fear,
someone makes a mark,
another wonders why,
it skips a happy start,
lemons tart as tears,
chill a ghostly birthright,
don’t see the danger near,
forget our shining cars,
they won’t hear us sigh,
we wait before the arc,
this hell hole on the weir,
allows no-one's rights,
to be cool, considered, clear,
walls scream strife and fire.

In a room that creaks,
listening to the rain,
she turns to speak,
this is not my tune,
she says,
the song is too crude,
words stuck in between,
the moon hesitates,
it knows where she's been,
Paris and sunlit avenues,
somewhere in Spain,
free from the intrudes,
wrapped in a cotton sheet,
she pulls at my traces,
her long legs and knees,
outside’s a Magnolia tree,
the bed's like a cradle,
it ignores how it creaks,
sometimes she squeezes,
all the life that’s taken,
still from the sea,
love marks her day.

Paris and sunlit avenues,
not something on planes,
free from the crew,
wrapped in a cotton sheet,
she pulls at my traces,
her long gait and knees,

sometimes she squeezes,
from one life taken,
a manner to sleep easy,
love marks her day

pull on your kitchen gloves,
take your time,
say you're no longer in love,
remember which tune,
that hits broken lives,
it’s still ringing true,
heaven's a cover,
when you reach that line,
it sings in your blood,
want me hum it for you,
make the clock fly,
run outside the room,
hold to those who scrub,
live generous lives,
don't always get the rub,
like you never rue,
the mysteries of your crimes,
hear the wind go boom,
listen to what's above,
shudder with the wine,
fly like a released dove,
don’t be frightened.

Don't fall for anyone's Blues,
sing on the wire,
you always pay your dues,
life isn't a stone,
taken to the fire.
why should you atone,
whoever reads the news,
think who’s for hire,
make your own truth,
a philosopher in your bones,
say poison your desires,
find your own home,
read every book,
anything that inspires,
don't overlook,
your little place of ruin,
why be a denier,
the tax man plays his tunes,
wants each little piece of you,
anyone can inquire,
don’t give them a clue,
you're not a liar.

Drunk enough to ask why,
accept she's been chosen,
before you deny,
or fall from her crazes,
what she tried to provoke,
with stupid phrases,
sing instead her favourite lines,
our time goes by unspoken,
accept heaven's cry,
outside of all your praises,
do not shrink nor coax,
those wonderful ways,
at the grave in time,
to verify love's cloaking,
a cloud sails the sky,
what settles on your face,
on these cold bones,
when you blow the traces,
a flower at your side,
a piece of stone,
more than any pride,
just some little token.

What you call consistent,
remains being single,
swallows all resistance,
your search for the breeze,
sometimes the tingle,
the water wrung Belfrey,
do you hear the listless,
an assembly of jingles,
the things that you kiss,
your quotation of pieces,
you learn how to jangle,
away on the sea,
do you stand faceless,
each time dangle,
a wind-lashed promise,
that you tend easy,
instead of the ring,
like a rainbow tailed fish,
turns a sunlit vista,
beyond tides and shingle,
what’s not to miss,
when you bring trinkets?

Why live in a haze,
fight battles with the wind,
battered like cellophane,
best not to moan,
burn or skim,
life is only a loan,
when you buck the rain,
scour the land,
for that perfect bargain,
in your worn-out clothes,
pick up your drums,
you're not on your bones,
make a step change,
blow ten grand,
find love instead of trade,
if someone groans,
you don't understand,
get out of that zone,
chained to your days,
let your dreams expand,
in uncertain ways,
be a legend.

Esme Three
My good parts,
I firmly state,
are for your heart,
I look at the moon,
a spring tide today,
everything’s too soon,
my eyes dart,
wouldn't it be great,
to make a new start,
go and live in Vera Cruz,
I’m poised but wait,
don't need more bad news,
a psychiatrist debarred,
says emotion's only a name,
I'll sell the car,
we’ll take another route,
I smile and hesitate,
kiss before the curfew,
you tear me apart,
I'm a fool you say,
you're not so smart,
hold my face.

Esme Two
Make offers to a Diety,
no need for grace,
that greets my swollen feet,
strained in my moans,
I wonder about this place,
heart against bone,
there is a churning pity,
blown here by the rain,
it doesn’t do solitary,
alone in its grotto,
I wonder what to say,
or how to atone,
for all my history,
given this day,
what price is offertory,
these café’ jokes kill me,
the useless games,
become part of my inventory,
I don't plan to deceive,
put ribbons around a cage,
but want to believe,
sunshine fills my face.

Esme
Tunes jingle and ping,
my insides screech,
I need another drink,
between home and missing you,
help me to say,
what I need to do,
your face tear sprinkled,
lemon blue by the sea,
turns into my shrink,
I’ll kill the truth,
with my own conceit,
a conscience in ruins,
let others think,
so eager to squeeze,
memories, a sous chef king,
they echo my blues,
a coward's retreat,
no dreams to rue,
but if there's a chink,
of light scattered easy,
I’ll be off in a blink,
when released.

Brilliant stones,
whisper your name,
waters groan,
in trouble you need,
solace each day,
you'll soon feel,
you are never alone,
we'll dance a reel,
best not to moan,
a fisherman protects his creel,
don't let panic reign,
in Calendars of the sea,
take Calcium for your bones,
in this place stay sane,
no one really atones,
the bird who drops seed,
says it’s only fame,
sing as you speed,
drunk as a fiery contralto,
weave amongst flames,
is this all you own,
dissolve give way.

She laughs and hums a tune,
says it’s stupid to lie,
it’s just what we do,
we skirt around the garden,
she gives another sigh,
children are late home,
more like a whispered ooh,
her failing sight,
fills the afternoon,
the same dull hollow,
a broken light,
whispers up from below,
don’t ask me why,
she faces ruin,
it makes me cry,
she’s not one for show,
says she’ll go out high,
pretend she’s in New York,
make her voice boom,
rage over the night,
men say that they knew,
she wanted to fly.
Sunday, 22 September 2019
Francine
Times that brought her,
a yellow light of feasting,
she dreams of autumn,
let others condone,
that passing disease,
of a broken home,
more than any daughter,
she'll do what's needed,
forging her laughter,
a shiny stone,
she stands by the sea,
swears she'll never atone,
love seeps on the bend,
it reaches her knees,
like broken water,
for matters gone,
she knows what she’s leaving,
some hoped for dawn,
fixated or in prayer,
she cries when released,
wonders if anyone cares, s
it isn't that easy.

God knows if she's right,
she can demand anything,
sunlight, water, sky,
like the tide off Burbo Bank,
her smile is estuary wide,
begins where I sink,
she never leaves my side,
but sits here and sings,
a woman on fire,
her lungs like a tank,
she bellows for a ring,
could prise open a bank,
next to me she slides,
her lips twist like centimes,
around a constant lie,
tobacco blonde eyes cranked,
a dancer whose fame decides,
many a famous wank,
she dances in the tide,
her day is just beginning,
nails me with that smile,
fresh, alive, giving.

Signs to fly away from,
we won't make sunset,
scattered and gone,
the associate’s due,
his astonishing jet,
a whispered thank you,
fire and distant thunder,
meets our target,
the unfettered amongst us,
beyond this daily blues,
our days not met,
fighting over what we do,
I wash myself down,
no matter the bet,
if I'll last this shift,
how the world cruises,
through our little knot,
nights presage a morning slew,
on her sleeve’s a wrong,
no one tells her yet,
I think of the bonds,
in houses we let.

Your smile lets you prance,
for fear of being caught,
by smart tongued chit chat,
make all the bean counters,
you show around the course,
look and turn around,
what wounds you’ve lanced,
singing yourself hoarse,
others call it balance,
when those who rant,
make you go taut,
forget their glib answers,
hold your nerve and ask,
is this what they’re taught,
sip vodka from a flask,
regret those missed chances,
work out the score,
how to turn it around,
don’t try to dance,
those who are caught,
will always fly to France,
their eyes frozen.

A cold wind blows,
it stokes my fear,
who remains in the know,
pearl doves arc above,
where else is clear,
so far away from love,
give money for school clothes,
everything’s so dear,
there are no bad ones,
sail with those who live,
fresh linen ups the gear,
always makes them give,
is my vision slow,
you need to be clear,
we are never alone,
blown across the bluffs,
don't worry who comes near,
someone will look after us,
wear long coats to show,
summer comes each year,
try to touch the soul,
with shiny frozen tears.

I don't need a shrink,
but a lover that sways,
give me time to think,
what I might disown,
like a brew man’s dray,
an arm full of barrels,
I know what you're thinking,
you don't need to say,
my house is a sink,
a letter from the town,
makes a window display,
when hostage rules sorrow,
I swerve on the brink,
though whole summer’s days,
plates gather and stink,
the stuff that I down,
would make a choirboy drink
the heat off my brow,
it takes a gold cufflink,
to lift open my gate,
face like an ice rink,
make this ship sail.

Patra Two
What might have been,
is not always fair,
for a life of ease,
don't sing me the blues,
you’re not that aware,
to turn from virtue,
blowing like steam,
your nostrils flared,
eyes a simple scream,
tell me the truth,
is my voice so slurred,
who needs more proof,
I drink on sad evenings,
would you care,
when I lay beat,
look at me I seethe,
is it my thin hair,
do I need new teeth,
can you love me,
think you’ll dare,
the way I aim to be,
are you scared?

Petra
Your star is coming home,
besides a police light,
in gardens, you lie prone,
whisper your love,
on throwaway nights,
your ravaged face a moon,
like saints parade their bones,
a song gets you tight,
makes you drink alone,
alcoves shine with doves,
a learned moan is cried,
you pray to those above,
fresh linen and eau de cologne,
always makes them sigh,
it brings more scope,
you are not that good,
millions live and die,
some without a roof,
luminous as a frozen stone,
you stand just to the side,
far beyond the credit zones,
they all know why.

Carys Three
I'm not your drip,
within a big sea,
the yellow light hid,
what about your lover,
with all her surly needs,
has she got a number,
that you need to live,
alongside your creed,
who do you mint,
on that edge of wonder,
that pitiless belief,
a high heeled flounder,
stones and pieces of drift,
know not to flee,
what's in your gift,
enslave or encumber,
a lifetime of greed,
instead of sweet slumber,
would you leave me in sin,
at life's end in weeds,
spinning more fibs,
that none of us need.

Carys Two
Facedown terrible claims,
no star can refuse,
your outrageous fades,
you who wonder why,
the canons of virtue,
feel those cotton stripes,
this is no child’s game,
The TV blares fake news,
Quashing your days,
around terrible lies,
golden trinkets spin the blues,
even your crass disguise,
iron bars the way,
what is there to rue,
hit them on the make,
only fools really try,
with someone like you,
tired of this butterfly,
better hold the doo-doo,
especially on parade,
eyes glazed like fish glue,
go easy on the truth.

Why pay a heavy score,
your almond eyes are ruined,
love is raw,
can you feel my bones,
like a heavy boom,
attached to a useless crone,
life is not a door,
where you put the boot in,
or pray to broken laws,
say you won't leave home,
only fools live feudin',
until the love is gone,
don't divide me by whores,
with other stuff you do,
or scream it’s because,
just pick up the phone,
why live out of tune,
then run away lost,
break holy orders,
drain summer into June,
all you swore,
lies beneath the moon.

Once I knew,
when life is so short,
it helps beat the Blues,
in this summer night,
when you don’t phone,
the house gives no respite,
no books or other dues,
when you just go,
a trail not well used,
they know of your plight,
who you fought,
your cards are on fire,
you're never that mule,
when you are caught,
others still rule,
if there’s ever a sign,
to parade overwrought,
don’t let them step light,
put a stop to it will you,
don't have me condone,
those you balloon,
so far from home.

Am asked to ferment desire,
a place without windows,
surrounded by tyres,
I descend by mountain mule,
to warm my toes,
still, play the fool,
a young woman without child,
love free to bestow,
it's been a while,
the cabin is smoky blue,
my smiles don’t follow,
what our ancestors refused,
hope sings on midnight wires,
more to life than show,
the long road to paradise,
I trace my arms for sinews,
chance to get to know;
the sweet smell of perfume,
it’s in my dancing fire,
won't hurt you with my no,
just to bring in line,
all my joys and sorrow.

She travels light across tears,
shares jokes in the dust,
then her star disappears,
I knew her in jail,
a blanket for the just,
love never fails,
what brought her here,
in the lilac dusk,
a woman so clear,
ice blue as the rails,
ridden till she's bust,
absorbed all her days,
no one can go near,
a flame that never shuts,
wolves know the experience,
haunt me like the deer,
I did what I could,
smoking she appears,
puts away the years,
her lovely face thrust,
towards a beer,
her perfume is like musk.

You say up your game,
always take your chance,
don’t shuffle the remains,
listening to his muted song,
who would ever lance,
his need to belong,
watching the rain,
snake down a naked path,
can’t be bothered to nail,
the swell of crowded bars,
cargo ships and shining France,
rooms with dark marks,
red lips white-faced,
cigarettes and the dance,
waiting to slip again,
here we just bumble along,
flying by our pants,
hope we’re not wrong,
before the jake,
asks to polish unlit lamps,
kindness awaiting,
treating us like tramps.

Since you've been away,
I don't know what to do,
but each night pray,
you’ll break the maddened stone,
I’ll finish it for you,
no one’s still at home,
to keep the time of day,
see what makes it true,
nothing more to say,
you always have to smoke,
somehow play the fool,
laugh like a bag of stones,
the walls have turned grey,
Gin is not my ruin,
you've eaten all the cake,
confined within this space,
there’s little more to sew,
gilded as a fallen flake,
we ride the joy of praise,
see the creep of moon,
our horizons fall away,
take them as our due.

Saphie Three
Working here's no paradise,
it only takes two,
to steer an edgy spike,
but it could be great
stars and sea like glue,
stardust on our plate,
all we need is better light,
show what we can do,
to save us from the fire,
our songs still resonate,
no feeling like the Blues,
gone is a better place,
this district is our life,
dances for me and you,
naked transport lights,
doesn’t matter how late,
we sing with kitchen crews,
we won’t hesitate,
give us easy nights,
where we catch what’s new,
even in the way we slide,
way outside the loop.

Saphie Two
You appear stoned,
your picture up in lights,
or written on a wall.
if love holds true,
I know the bells to strike,
because I know each part of you,
tell me you're not alone,
no matter how we fight,
or beat our yellow bones,
you are not for fools,
pretty before your time,
fighting off the blues,
you scream down a ‘phone,
say there is no paradise,
a flame not at home,
for all your talent reviews,
dreams pass out of sight,
wind blows a cold truth,
clouds ride black and bold,
across an autumn fire,
you sing less to atone,
than finish with desire.

Saphie
When you see a fading star,
does it make you uneasy,
knowing it’s not that far,
with children and dogs,
just stay as you please,
in a warm hazy fog,
send my ship to Mars,
to the sea of tranquillity,
or bear the scars,
is that what you want,
forget cups of tea,
and all the stuff you don't,
put water in my font,
all your fares increase,
what the hell's going on,
I'm like someone from afar,
a bended knee,
scraping on the tar,
play Blues in a boxcar,
scatter all my needs,
put my ashes on the bar,
bring me peace.

I cook like Marcel Duchamp,
and walk with weary gait,
scent of my cologne is damp,
bring cognac to my table,
send dishes by measured paces,
feed my gorgon frame,
am not someone to look upon,
swaying like a knave,
singing out what I’ve done,
unshaven waiters,
in this cafe',
often watch me faint,
women before me unmoved,
with buttered hair on trains,
talk of what’s above,
creating is what I crave,
kitchens are lonely places,
my uncertain forays,
begin from the urinal,
that's really my fame,
this place a caravan,
to carry my name.

Windows paint strokes,
against the falling rain,
shocked again I'm broke,
echoes of an empty surfeit,
another sad holiday,
it’s no news to me,
at St Anthony’s stone,
loss brings no certainty,
when you need a loan,
songs of a dismal choice,
pose lonely sad trains,
that whistle and moan,
to beg again,
with love gone on plates,
or down the Freeway,
it marks my bones,
shadows of the infirmary,
circle my zones,
I'm a generous soul,
reclaimed from this cafe',
and like to joke,
when I get paid.

When I say 'screw you',
It makes my troubles light,
there's so much more to do,
do all chefs die intestate,
however much they lie,
throwing venom at the plates,
explosive screams at menus,
they face some terrible high,
a frightened kitchen crew,
tear around this place,
don't tell me how to cry,
anchors bind my feet,
someone has the truth,
debts roll from my eyes,
no longer am I duped,
wouldn't it be great,
to feel a love inside,
instead of all this rage,
a place beyond the dunes,
lying near the tide,
will it bear me fruit ,
or hang me out to dry?

Cocaine is our lady,
we accept her burnt cheer,
it brings us the cradle,
turns a city to stone,
down avenues so clear,
we wear different bones,
love is our trade,
we handle it without fear,
like fried halloumi these days,
long journey's to the coast,
nothing’s too dear,
what we crave most,
pick up the shame,
we just need the gear,
for all of our forays,
never willed or on show,
no need for tears,
face nightmares unknown,
anyone who says,
there’s no need for tears,
I’ll show them what’s rage,
in these turbulent years.
Chris
The year Lady passed away,
I couldn't get past the blues,
was sunken day by day,
I hated to be alone,
or see anyone new,
on the street or Metro,
but you were an angel,
I haven't got a clue,
how to deal with rage,
you arranged the loans,
introduced me to the crew,
put jelly on my bones,
before this game,
I only thought of you,
and what you created,
when you started to waste,
useless cooking food,
it has a different taste,
your tune still resonates,
in all that I do,
even in this digital age
God bless the loving fool.

Who hasn't thought,
alone and perplexed,
worrying about what we’ve bought,
over a drink of wine,
the burdens of text,
Birthdays, parties, Valentines,
other stuff we’ve caught,
from mouths of the vexed,
ask what’s the score,
with men Online,
who will pop up next,
demanding our time,
generally divorced,
wearing a vest,
drunk and overwrought,
it's me at the shopping mall,
staring at the best,
will anyone give a call,
firmly click their jaws,
these resurrections tests,
supposed to be joyous,
are just like the rest.

She has such a giving way,
she brings me Bollinger,
on Christmas Day,
what can we do alone,
without repentance,
in circumstances of our own,
wine pours down my face,
it’s like a Christening,
she cuts the Angel cake,
are we here or gone,
she hasn't got a pot to piss in,
we laugh at the unknown,
choose to live or waste,
call our lives as witness,
poured upon to pray,
she stumbles down the road,
like a totem off the sea,
those trips on our bones,
are my greatest days,
when not scared shitless,
gives the ease to celebrate,
a lovely spirit.

Do you remember the sea,
the swell and the spray,
our dance at Thebes,
now the kids have flown,
gone away,
they look after their own,
we dance on the beach,
at the end of the day,
all our loving at Crosby,
every part of our home,
suddenly drained,
now we're alone,
you grab my sleeve,
pull me to the Bay,
my troubles ease,
by the wind brown estuary,
I hold your face,
think like Fernandghetti;
catch horizons like these,
you wonder why I pray,
buy me chips and peas
strip away Cocaine.

Your house beyond the dunes,
roses rise beneath the sky,
death won’t bring you ruin,
all chefs die intestate,
fashioned dishes may lie,
it’s better than the prostrate,
even God is not immune,
he takes each love aside,
won't be duped,
fire burns the oven grate,
don't tell me how you cried,
smoke rises from the hot plate,
it isn't me but you,
dying in the tide,
don't you know you fool,
with all your shades of blue,
you left me hanging out to dry,
all the lovers too,
they come to say how are you,
pillowed troubles slight,
a laughing kitchen crew,
debts gone from their eyes.

In any cafe',
when you figure it,
there's always the odd flake,
where the kitchen shakes,
chefs boiling in fits,
forget about the wage,
they’re all on the make,
with their new gadgets,
that go in this place,
my back’s in outer space,
no hands can fit,
around the pain,
it spins before my face,
like a launderette,
puts me out the game,
hanging on a door frame,
music from a playlist,
holds me up this way,
it'd be a cheek to say,
love doesn’t exist,
when my wife and my mate,
act like they’ve hit.

By the garden door,
of Saint Phillip Neri,
he sees the poor,
cross Catherine Street,
in their eyes need,
linen washed clean,
the soul of lost hordes,
some hold a weed,
they laugh as they walk,
who needs a divvy,
when food is cheap,
the beggar's party,
all of them taught,
you need no inquiry,
when the truth is caught,
then buried,
and each part of thought,
has been curried,
to a perfect nought,
that’s to identify,
between now and what's sought,
the moon and the sea ?

Sometimes with this place,
you just don't know,
if you’re going to make it,
the same with those,
who forget to show,
don't understand where they go,
just when you pray,
give me a blow,
another one turns up late,
how they break your bones,
when they know,
you can’t get out alone,
really need a mate,
sunlit hills come with stones,
I'll have to wait,
this café trade is slow,
red wine’s not to waste,
a crowded bar would atone,
it’s a happy day,
listening to a jazz solo,
a cigarette to taste,
an atmosphere of home

In a supermarket yard,
lovely face washed,
by rain and river salt,
dressed always decent,
her trolley for a cross,
she sees them lay blankets,
spirits without a spark,
they sit there to rest,
it's a rare clerk,
not put to the test,
when clearing this park,
not to think of the lost,
they all do at Primark,
she shops in Lidle,
but life is so stark,
she can never forget them,
they are like larks,
next to the chapel,
if there’s ever a chart,
to pause for a moment,
bring food to no marks,
each of us vagrant.

Mona this starts here the new re- iteration
Smouldering like a star,
chasing numbers,
leaving the place ajar,
a different calendar,
her boss says 'i wonder',
she's a great heart,
then she bought a car,
made it trouble,
he won't let her off,
right from the start,
bewildered,
she floods the bar,
her Ma,
ten years after,
still hears her laughter,
she could have gone far,
surrendered,
smashed lipstick on,
sees it in her Da,
terrible to be a mother,
under a borrowed tarp,
love always hungers

My vision arrives too late,
it's not easy to believe,
what I have to say,
you rolled within my thunder,
exploded like a tree,
lost in moans to numbers,
you'll find out one day,
if you let me keep,
plans you’ve thrown away,
my mind is so uncluttered,
wild birds screech,
who needs love,
I won’t stand in the way,
of a cowards retreat,
make it last to date,
it makes you wonder,
stones, graves, wreaths,
who splits who asunder,
memories of your face,
are not easy to read,
the poetry of your days,
flies away from me.

Wouldn't it be great,
to dance on fallen snow,
to gurgle with the rain,
say it's not a ruse,
a fatal night that’s gone,
what it is got loose,
don't worry about gain,
at supper ask for bones,
search for stuff to pay,
forget it is our due,
or the need to show,
our party is the duel,
we’ll always walk in State,
spit upon the loans,
consider what remains,
we can never choose,
when we’re up or down,
we only burn low fuel,
lips are made to celebrate,
great deeds where jungles grow,
champagne cognac is our grace,
no one need ever know.

Please don't make me cry,
one star is nothing new,
between the moon and sky,
enjoy being stupid,
instead of cruel,
in a universe of fools,
don’t say it's all right,
to flush me down sewers,
give arsenic a try,
it’s not my perfume,
a song that oblates you,
breathe sweetly in tune,
you’ll face the tides,
without any view,
when you’re up this high,
it’s not lassitude,
or other tools,
laughter makes you crude,
bitter dreams by candlelight,
give me just my due,
angels split this ocean wide,
I’ll come back for you.

I won't leave you alone,
know every move you make,
even when you lie entombed,
Oh do it if you must,
get out of this place,
instead of gathering dust,
just enough of you gone,
to leave a nasty taste,
when you skip from loans,
it’s another loss,
when looked at this way,
aware of every cost,
you file like a honeycomb,
someone who craves,
regular trips on the bone,
can't hide what you’ve got,
what is left to take
write whatever you want,
on Blue promissory notes,
stamp it on your stone,
is it you, you fake,
can't you alter tone?

You can swear and blow,
say it's never too late,
to make your way home,
don’t piss in the soup,
or worry about fate,
you're no one's fool,
a rolling stone,
there’s no more escape,
luck's when dice roll,
it better come soon,
things change this way,
everything becomes due,
too close to the zone,
what is it about you,
who’s not alone,
don’t mind the looks,
you'll always need loans,
from those who spread news,
you're too old to roam,
nothing left to explain,
no knife to your throat,
suffer their gaze.

Some nights I ask why,
other times don’t,
why stars shine all night,
is it a sense of grace,
that marks our credit zone,
when we're out this way,
you stare into my eyes,
the wind is black and cold,
then you’re gone in wine,
the kids and dogs are great,
why go roaming,
no one hears the gate,
if you can’t say now,
I’ll call this place home,
flame starts with a light,
hear me castigate,
down a broken phone,
accept my tirades,
no matter how we fight,
or strain our hungry bones,
we're only rolling dice,
not to be alone.

Me Ma stamps on tar,
she crumbles,
when he buys the car,
no pine needles nor hay,
bursts upon them like lovers,
home or away,
he’s crossed the arc,
just trouble,
right from the off,
to sail on blue waves,
a ship for a mother,
is what he craves,
he's ruined her heart,
my girl says 'i wonder,
where did that start?
not far away,
love always hungers,
for trips on the train,
I still hear me Da,
laughing like a juggler,
happy he’s not barred,
our house full of rumour.

Whatever else you need,
make it the last dream,
leave me to grieve,
consider me gone,
neither busted or relieved,
you’ll dance on my bones,
hang me on the breeze,
an Ocean or sea,
if you hear me scream,
when you walked me home,
under lilac trees,
my eyes were aglow,
think how necessary,
you want to tell me,
are ghosts of your conceit,
drink to atone,
another broken scene,
make me eat crow,
what you once deemed,
is cruel to perceive,
now that you've given,
all to receive.

It's useless to wait,
a Knife to the bone,
always strikes late,
never safe to heed,
what I've been doing,
no one makes me bleed,
or gets in the way,
I slay my ghosts,
no matter what the waste,
say nothing about that scene,
just leave me alone,
my turn now to plead,
it leaves me delicate,
a song with broken tones,
sealed in a freighter’s crate,
it’s not my creed,
to keep fear at home,
when you want to succeed,
the moon has a gaze,
it knows what you've seen,
the wind in the slates,
fire on the breeze.

Just a game my sister,
forget how to wrangle,
those who miss ships,
your search for the free,
hangs like a spider,
in songs of the wind,
the way you kiss,
make my eyes cringe,
for better promises,
so close to the sea,
the nearer your frankness,
nothing carefree,
you are less spin,
each line you imagine,
rowing the Isthmus,
you won’t write to me,
or give me waffle,
if it’s not to be,
why do you insist,
the shock of the single,
is nothing to miss,
for life on the shingle?

Wouldn't it be great,
to slip like fallen snow,
into soothing rain,
say it's not a ruse,
that fatal one night gone,
ask what's the use,
don't worry about gain,
at supper ask for bones,
mumble how we’ll pay,
forget our dangled blues,
or the need to show,
we’re ready for the duel,
always walk in state,
spit upon the loans,
celebrate what remains,
we can never lose,
won't say we’re let down,
it's only what we do,
your hands with rings oblate,
cafe's where flowers grow,
champagne cognac to chase,
it's all ours to blow.

Now my voice gets raised,
just don’t turn me loose,
no more hot summer days,
I hate to be alone,
trapped in my own curfew,
on forgotten streets or Metro,
you’re no angel,
bringing something new,
to stoke my rage,
you brought me the loans,
the party losers,
the flirty girl groans,
before you set sail,
everything seemed true,
on what you created,
when you’re on your bones,
they’ll turn the screw,
on everything you own,
now you've gone away,
can't get past the Blues,
I shrink day by day,
on golden avenue.

Coming by train last night,
I swear it’s not easy,
to put love out of sight,
she lives in Naples,
rocks me gently,
tells me everything's OK,
it's a perfect night,
the moon rides the sea,
in her arms, I cry,
fresh linen and sable,
the soul of lost seasons,
my money on the table,
she talks of a writer,
called Lisa Passolini,
and kisses me quietly,
from the roof we’re able,
to see Saint Peter's,
I feel the poor flailing,
their voice catches flight,
be what you want to be,
soar like a kite,
serene.

I don't want to know,
if you really believe,
I'll dance on your bone,
sink while you pray,
consoled by your money,
keep the house anyway,
when you're all alone,
will you think of the sea,
no one hears you groan,
or listens when you say,
you’ve poured out your soul,
along our highway,
what you really own,
is a taste bittersweet,
for bricks and loans,
you ask why I’m late,
to comfort your greed,
who are you to blaze,
it’s only wood and stone,
if it’s that easy,
I need to get going,
wear widow's weeds.

Love blows warm at night,
howls in ancient places,
waits for light to slide,
when promises are broken,
spirits name their own names,
call out to ancient stones,
it will be all right,
is all you need to say,
just give me time,
beyond this war zone,
we can sacrifice fame,
to others we both know,
laugh in gentler climes,
it’s to no one’s shame,
part of me is dying,
a flame burning low,
who can you blame,
rivers rise on their own,
don't turn silent,
we'll find home again,
return us on the tide,
treasure every day.

If you would only redeem,
what lights my smile,
no more deceit,
wolves howl at the moon,
phrases used as a child,
some cloak an open wound,
words thrown to the sea,
lost without signs,
make everyone believe,
what aches for truth,
a power beyond my sight,
brings better news,
no more a bitter feed,
always taking flight,
in whispered needs,
mother's ruin,
is supposed to align,
all our virtues,
before you came for me,
they told me it’s right,
that love travels eternally,
before my eyes.

A smile on his face,
he says he’ll carry on,
can’t turn away,
a horizon once bright,
he navigates over bones,
feels it's right,
maybe take a train,
like a lover that's gone,
it came once his way,
the picture's not kind,
could cry but he won't,
no place to make light,
why thoughts work this way,
he’ll never understand,
here on the pave,
within a city's sight,
hardly a sound,
under a summer sky,
bets he could make,
tied to the stove,
there’s nothing to gain,
by going home.

Some things you can't rule,
in the gentle rain,
don't know what to do,
scrubbed by fire,
I hear myself say,
it's only my desire,
want to hear good news,
sail down the freeway,
untroubled by the Blues,
like birds on a wire,
we find hard to ascertain,
who's the biggest liar,
she boils me in a stew,
in clearings makes me taste,
old and bitter fruit,
she won't ask me why,
I live without brains,
lost in the sky,
it doesn’t take a fool,
to move the earth again,
find out what you lose,
when she walks away.

We drink for company,
God knows you're right,
this place needs some sympathy,
the front of house crew,
out of sight,
only come awake at noon,
just leave us in peace,
fear grips our sight,
cooking guides our being,
knives as sharp as new,
we'll make each day bright,
have no truck with fools,
she says how easy,
it is to grill the sky,
nothing stands her scrutiny,
we're so happy and cool,
in the morning light,
everything we say and do,
she can smell the sea,
a message from on high,
not as bad as me,
we don't do lies.

Parade all the while,
while you’re on bail,
ride the lonely miles,
in your bones,
you’re not here to stay,
alone,
you left him to die,
on your holy grail,
said you didn’t have time,
can you atone,
when love always fails,
shame stacks like a farrago,
flip a coin to the sky,
talk of hoisting sail,
no worries about style,
drink wine from a Jeroboam,
covet some desolate mail,
throw stones at his ghost,
what is it to cry,
that finds you this way,
you're not going to lie,
it’s worse than jail.

Kieron to Johhny
What you can't find,
makes you think again,
wrap up more twine,
don't go alone,
there's too much pain,
stay to your own,
you hear of time,
standing in the rain,
saying everything's fine,
drenched to the bone,
you're no angel,
in your chef’s clothes,
why try to disguise,
each day brings a claim,
you still roll the dice,
don't trust the telephone,
it ruins the game,
love's got no real home,
just take the 79,
to catch a fast train,
dance a different jive,
get away from this place.

Gone is the time,
that stares straight at you,
your Ma's real crime,
doesn’t make it easy,
what she can’t go through,
nothing that pleases,
clothes cashmere fine,
won’t stamp out her blues,
each hint of July,
she doesn’t do breezy,
why disguise the truth,
hates the way you speak,
the time you spent inside,
uses it like a tool,
to sharpen her mind,
you shake the car keys,
act like her mule,
each day is no Odyssey,
you’re just in line,
to catch more sad tunes,
drink that sweet wine,
see who’s the fool.

You can swear and blow,
it's never too late,
if you want to come home,
no need to face ruin,
or worry about an escape,
you're no one's fool,
a rolling stone,
at some broken gate,
luck's when it rolls,
it better come soon,
drunk on the waves,
everything about you,
is close to the bone,
you'll survive the blues,
who’s not alone,
don’t mind their looks,
you'll always need loans,
from careful types,
you're too cool to roam,
nothing else to gain,
no knife to your throat,
love’s no rebate.

You're never a girl,
that curses and blasts,
your mind in a whirl,
face like a stone,
when you’re half-assed,
it's best you count now,
don't wear your furs,
for men who feel trapped,
rattle your pearls,
they’ll roll you like ghosts,
strung to collapse,
when lies are your own,
your head in a twirl,
a scarf worn for Mass,
say prayers downstairs,
cry on the doorpost,
drink tea aghast,
ask what you want most,
turn that flame down,
you cook with gas,
your flag unfurled,
everything will pass.

A cracked dirty spoon,
offers no insight,
or makes you look cool,
here in this game,
a race for your life,
who holds the reins,
you act like a fool,
cooked over lies,
stop what you’re doing,
when your eyes feel pain,
your brain like a firefly,
let others go their way,
what makes it so futile,
you’re drying inside,
face like a lost duel,
when someone asks why,
you're going insane,
don’t show them the knife,
or act goody two shoes,
pretend to like wine,
who needs to be cruel,
you'll be fine.

Why dream of empathy,
sitting on a wall,
too drunk to speak,
enough to raise the stakes,
risk being torn,
the useless dates we make,
I wait for the seasons,
with my crown of thorns,
giving up on reason,
kids about the place,
being cast forlorn,
I have to act brave,
don’t look at me diseased,
like you’ve been caught,
pissing in the sea,
lend a hand that shakes,
absence your only call,
understand why I hesitate,
this is not really me,
jellied to the core,
a flower of deep tranquility,
no one ever loved.
