Ferdy
She knows what's been around,
an unbroken sky,
shows up on naked mounds,
a torment of broken sleep,
when others fly,
she makes her great leap,
a kid from our town,
she promises to try,
to break all the bounds,
although born and weaned,
and raised by cattle signs,
she misses yellow fields,
now she dances on the shows,
city lights are pure delight,
away from country sounds,
but her lonesome dream,
still demands a reason why,
little ones and fireside scenes,
still make her cry.
