Peggy
Why ask for serenity,
like we're creatures in a jar,
rescued from the sea,
put together in a frame,
note a different mark,
something you can't name,
if others set us free,
a distant bell afar,
takes you back to childhood scenes,
is this a different age,
you drive an electric car,
it still feels strange,
nothing fills our need,
except a hazy fog,
somewhere we can dream,
dancing on the waves,
a sail across a spar,
toss overboard stuff's wreckage,
all the things you see,
all the time we're not,
that's just us laughing,
we carry on.
