Indy
Smouldering like a star,
chasing numbers,
leaving back doors ajar,
drink sets her apart,
her boss says 'i wonder,'
she's a great heart,
then she bought a car,
it made her trouble,
he won't let her off,
right from the start,
bewildered and rumbled,
she floors the tar,
her lovely Da,
ten years in numbness,
still hears her laughter,
could have gone far,
her life surrendered,
a slash of lipstick on,
the love of her Ma,
terrible to be a mother,
eyes a burrowed tarp,
says love is a hunger.
