There's times I wish,
I’d never been born,
lookout on a bridge,
my taxi's gone,
now leave me alone,
blowing on my bones,
what makes me think,
know what I’m doing,
getting stupid in drink,
splashing Cologne,
Autumn coming on,
standing above the toll,
then the clouds shrink,
my ship's coming home,
wives start to twitch,
they see me walk,
an unsteady sojourn,
to meet sailor souls,
majestic and garish,
resplendent in the sun.
I'm like a carriage,
wheels come undone.
