Johnny Two
Since I've been at home,
they don't know what to do,
let me pray alone,
sleep any time of day,
hear me wail the blues,
nothing more to say,
like breaking up a stone,
ask what’s wrong with you,
who cares who atones,
the walls are turning grey,
sin is not my tune,
have eaten all my cake,
say I have to go,
why always play the fool,
act like it’s my totem,
confined within this space,
I’ve learned one piece of truth,
pure as a snowflake,
sing and praise your home,
see the creep of moon,
new horizons run like foals,
always pay what's due.

Johnny
Standing by an unlit lamp,
a tree, a bridge, shaking,
I look like a tramp,
listen to the news,
someone’s making waves,
for us crud and chew,
better take a chance,
if I play the game,
it’s either that or France,
won’t run askew,
what is there to gain,
singing out the blues,
nothing rocks my path,
they can scatter my remains,
wind will make them dance,
someone to bring a few,
say Huya what a day,
drink before we're screwed,
cigarettes and laughs,
Oysters and Champagne,
life’s here a balance,
it sometimes rains.

Martha Three
Living here's no paradise,
it never makes the news,
people here aren’t nice,
could as well be jail,
stars and sea like glue,
love's a broken gate,
all we want's a better life,
accept what we can do,
need a little respite,
my songs are well regaled,
the arias too,
not pity that I crave,
this is how it lies,
little pieces made for you,
don't ask me why,
what has been created,
boils away like stew,
I’m not an easy gaze,
home’s no searchlight,
where it beams on truth,
naked street nights,
pretty hues.

Martha Two
Some nights I ask why,
can we ever atone,
stars burn out and die,
it might well be Mars,
for all the credit shown,
we’re out that far,
sailing through bands of light,
the wind black and cold,
no place here to lie,
if its kids and dogs you want,
ham off the bone,
don’t start new wars,
can you hear me cry,
running out of furlough,
it's not enough to sigh,
we’ll buy that car,
warm our yellow bones,
won’t stay where we are,
the flame’s not right,
space is our home,
lightning rides the sky,
we're not forgotten.

Martha
You scatter all my seeds,
like ashes on the bar,
nothing comes easy,
blow away my pay,
then fly afar,
laugh at the terrible waste,
I cling to the sea,
like someone in a bottle,
you won't set me free,
it's a different age,
you drive a fancy car,
but still can’t wait,
what about my creed,
that warm hazy fog,
a path to childhood dreams,
makes me dance the waves,
all the stuff you're not,
a pearl among the wreckage,
drink is bad for me,
songs leave too many scars,
your face is an ice rink,
what's going on?

Sal Three
I want to be with you,
stepping off this train,
feel remarkably new,
don’t wish to be alone,
the tide’s washed away,
tired streets and Metro,
there is no clue,
why it’s turned this way,
give them their due,
they blasted my bones,
say that I’m saved,
gave me roses to hold,
what is your view,
now the choice is raised,
I am not the issue,
before my groans,
you tried to erase,
everything I called home,
truth is a bitter fruit,
I’m good as each new day,
play me happy tunes,
kneel down and pray.

Sal Two
You wonder why I say,
when winter leaves,
another one’s gone away;
make my bath with foam,
fulfil gentle needs,
our loving isn't done,
I want to hold your face,
forget the disease,
catch horizons on the way,
the wind still runs cold,
helps me find my feet,
it’s a long journey home,
through the forays,
sudden troubles ease,
isn't it funny,
each one of my bones,
becomes amazingly free,
maybe there is a cure,
we’ll remember these days,
our trips to the sea,
the scrimped for holidays,
our dance of Thebes?
