Willow
Here’s a wish for you,
who would think comes first,
in everything some truth,
wish I wasn’t around,
what it is to thirst,
when you're on the ground,
the sea alone rolls blue,
has no time for mirth,
knows when something’s due,
was it by the Sound,
you spin tales well versed,
found me there alone,
say you'll ring on cue,
sometimes for the worst,
start again like new,
the river shines like stone,
stars and night converse,
your reach for me is gone,
are you scared ?

1983 was a big year to be,
more than 40 years ago Wowee,
met my partner Billy G,
howling down the 'phone,
raging in midstream,
said all singers die alone,
a photographer of big scenes,
unashamed sclerotic dreams,
still recount all his yarns,
rocking episodes one by one,
dancing places by the sea,
sepia lighting right in tune,
tales of could have beens,
who grants us such memories,
forged shotss out of nothing,
wherever he still carries on,
boardwalks with ice creams,
I laugh at that time gone,
good enough for me.

We dream of justice,
jumbled thrown away,
receive life consistent,
when we think of home,
whoever's in that frame,
do we remember love,
rage does not absolve us,
further troubles pain,
washing down our luck,
calendars tell the known,
what's missing from the page,
ask us what's gone wrong,
collect all our interests,
shake them up each day,
can we better this,
undo what’s been done,
great stories have to wait,
our endless lives mellow,
he will rise again.

When I look to see,
three missed trains,
your face a relic dream,
what do you want to hear,
that love always remains,
smooth as shifting gear,
are these lines tweaked,
as the time gives way,
nights of drunken sleep,
beyond the railway yards,
trees wave in gentle rain,
faces trace lonely cards,
electrics shush to wheels,
still hear that sound today,
listen to my sad appeal,
what makes you scared,
wrapped in your own way,
does no one thinks i care,
now you've gone away ?

You say everything’s right,
while your daughter prays,
who turns off the lights,
you smile between moans,
laugh as on a sunny day,
never lose the bones,
around your eyes,
there’s a tired terrain,
it's the love we prized,
chasing luck like a drone,
the call of Bingo forays,
in rain or early snow,
as if time's stopping by,
whoever thinks your way,
smoking Marlboro Lites,
we never get the tone,
as our family rages,
water drips on the floor,
none of us the same.

Why treat me so uncouth,
exclusive of your dreams,
melt me lemon blue,
with your belts and perfumes,
easy dancing schemes,
ask what I'll do for you,
your palace lies in ruins,
battlements fall to the sea,
walls are yellow mildew,
brought here as your muse,
my path forever eased,
so hard to mime tribute,
your wide satin shoes,
deep as soup tureens,
follow my every move,
why keep me as a rebuke,
you’ve someone else to see,
no one knows the truth,
just let me flee. .

Your lack of remorse,
a needling wire,
allows little discourse,
no rush to atone,
those you have hired,
hands like cold stone,
bitter morning recourse,
fevered by grey light,
sorrow run its course,
the burdens we own,
the offerings of desire,
makes demons ride home,
there is no concourse,
to give ourselves time,
friends all withdrawn,
shall we sail alone,
with this deepening ire,
circumnavigate the globe,
our souls on fire ?
