You say everything’s right,
while your daughter prays,
who turns off the lights,
you smile between moans,
laugh as on a sunny day,
never lose the bones,
around your eyes,
there’s a tired terrain,
it's the love we prized,
chasing luck like a drone,
the call of Bingo forays,
in rain or early snow,
as if time's stopping by,
whoever thinks your way,
smoking Marlboro Lites,
we never get the tone,
as our family rages,
water drips on the floor,
none of us the same.
