Dimica
Before you came for me,
asked me to carry the light,
of law across the sea,
you said it made you burn,
a love you thought was right,
bid mighty ships to turn,
famed in daylight for their speed,
their whispered sails at night,
stentorian terms agreed,
parchment sparkles in the bow,
a power beyond my sight,
three whole days you begged to learn,
provided therapy for all to see,
on cushions beneath my thighs,
famed or broken ill at ease,
you wailed out your misery,
" let me love a child'',
a broken tort on my knees,
fury in your smile.
