Julie

A smile on her face, she says carry on, says don't turn away, a horizon once bright, she navigates the Stones, feels if it's right, hears them take a train, like a lover that's gone, it once came her way, the picture's not kind, she can cry but won't, it’s no place to fright, why thoughts work this way, she’ll never understand, here on this highway, drives in a harvest light, hardly a sound, under an empty sky, what is safe to say, not tied to our bones, nothing to gain, by going home.
