Joely
if you knew how to give,
we wouldn't need,
these places to live,
this is no child’s game,
bound by greed,
fear dimming your days,
what about the kids,
with all their surly needs,
would you cast them adrift,
dreams can’t negate,
lies you told to me,
would you send them away,
with all your little fibs,
think it's a wheeze,
another one of your tricks,
you're a fool to celebrate,
each day without gifts.
instead you pontificate,
living life by drips,
a permanent Halloween,
where loving light trips,
like a lemon squeezed?
