Steve
Since I've been at home,
who knows what to do,
they let me stay alone,
sleep any time of day,
watch me walk the avenue,
nothing more to say,
like breaking up a stone,
ask what’s wrong with you,
why can’t you conform,
the walls are turning grey,
the bedroom’s singing blues,
I’ve eaten all my cake,
say I have to go,
always play the fool,
act like it’s my totem,
confined within this space,
there’s only one truth,
pure as a snowflake,
sing and love your bones,
they’ll dance by too soon,
who cares who atones,
always pay your dues.
